Questions persist after testing of ‘Jesus Wife’ papyrus

A year and a half after unveiling a slip of papyrus that she dubbed “The Gospel of Jesus’s Wife,” Harvard Bible scholar Karen King on Thursday (April 10) released the results of long-delayed testing on the controversial fragment that appear to show it is not a modern forgery.

But a host of questions remain, with some experts still wondering whether it is a fake and others questioning the value of the tests. Still others are asking whether the “gospel” and its suggestion that Jesus could have had a flesh-and-blood wife have any bearing on Christian doctrine.

King said she feels vindicated because the tests show the fragment, which is about the size of a business card, and the writing on it are ancient and therefore authentic. ...

You gentleman, should read the New York Times article that I put up in my first message.no doubt that is it is an ancient papyrus. So? This is not How We Got Our Bible Well, it is the way that the Roman Catholic Church got its Bible.

Good choice of words, John, and I'll add that the fragment being foisted upon the unsuspecting public could very well be ancient indeed, but...they won't care whether or not it lines up with God Word or not, unfortunately. Not unlike the books of Enoch, Thomas, Macabees, or whatever...ancient, but uninspired apocrypha. Things like this are the things that others looking to justify things use for excuses or to expound already faulty beliefs, docteines, etc.

This is just another bogus ancient writing being foisted upon an unsuspecting public as being divinely inspired.

One has to wonder how something of such dubious authorship is given so much credence by the academia. Have the standards for authenticity fallen that low?

Anyways Satan hasnt changed his age old attack on Gods word (Yea, hath God said?), and this is just another example worthy of the trash heap.

2 Corinthians 2:17 "For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ."
