Excavators discover 3,800-year-old biblical fortress in City of David

After a 15-year-long excavation defined as one of the most complex ever conducted in Israel, archeologists have finished uncovering a massive Canaanite fortress dating back to the time of Kings David and Solomon.

The 3,800-year-old ‚ÄúSpring Citadel‚ÄĚ was excavated in the City of David National Park by dozens of researchers led by Prof.

Ronny Reich of the University of Haifa and Eli Shukrun of the Antiquities Authority.

Hmm, this should also remind us:

Exodus 32
1 3 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, ‚ÄėI will multiply your seed as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.‚Äô‚ÄĚ

14 The LORD repented of the evil which he said he would do to his people.

I think John may be the only
person on this forum, including myself. We are all we, him, and I. This is all very confusing.
Anyway, my post also reminded me of Steve. The head knowledge is there but the light of Christ eludes him which would be very worrisome for me to hear from anyone. I would take a very hard and honest look within if I claimed to be born from above yet consistently called a deceiver, a wolf, etc, by other born again Christians. Even if one ever called me anything similar, it would give me pause for great concern, but not him because anyone who ever disagrees with him on anything is added to the children of the devil club. He believes that he is being persecuted for Christ's sake each time anyone speaks out against him which makes him very dangerous.

How can John UK's comment be any good??? He didn't reference any of the canons of Dort, he quoted no confession of faith or commentary, he didn't knock the KJV, and he didn't make a derogatory remark about the faithful who post here. Are we sure this was John UK, he uses many monikers you know. He probably wrote both Christopher and his comments. You may have to rethink your Dorcas, just saying.

Hi John, your comment made me think of preachers kids and how so many stray to the point of drug abuse, sexual deviations, crime, prison, getting pregnant, or whatever. I always used to wonder how in the world a child growing up in a Christian environment like that, being taught the things of God, even if the parents did everything right, could turn their backs on parent and God and go full out, delving into every evil thing. I always felt it was odd considering the advantage they had over so many others. Then I realized that the parents had been called by God but the children only had a superficial coating of information which gave the appearance of salvation because they were taught how a Chistian should act and speak, but all the words and teaching in the world; all the parental love in the world can't force a child to absorb that superficial coating...all that information, into their heart.
That's about the size of it, Christopher. Each one must come as an individual, individually called. It is certainly a huge blessing to have Christian parents, especially those who are strict, might save a lot of heartache later, but it is God's grace that makes any difference in salvation.

This is what makes our own conversion so remarkable and precious, Christopher. It shows the depths of the love of God towards us, that at some point in our life, he prevented us from walking to the other side of the street. He drew us to himself, just as a magnet north pole is drawn to a magnet south pole. It is a powerful love, that will not let us go. Though contrary to him, he loved us with an everlasting love. It is too precious for words.

Yes, Steven...the experts have insisted that many places and people never existed, only to have to say, "oops!", and backtrack each time the bible is prive geographically and historically correct. Many people and places but even, for example, the book of Daniel which they say couldn't have been written when it's claimed becausr it's too accurate on future events, etc.
Mankind will believe in any foolish fable or idea that anyone can dream up but refuse to believe in the one thing that makes sense. I can invent some whacky religion, stand on a street corner with a signup form and have followers that day. Try to tell people about God and what He has to offer and people will cross the street to avoid you. I think people don't like the idea of being held accountable and having to give up those things that the flesh craves...

I am always amused when archeologists "prove" things in the Bible were made up, then a few years later, truth comes to light with a deeper dig. Wasn't it just a few years ago the professionals were saying that David was more of a mythical character, and there was no physical proof of his existence?
