Facebook games the gateway drug of gambling, says UK psychologist
Free Facebook games are the “number one risk factor” for adolescent gambling addiction, according to British psychologist and co-founder of GamCare, Dr Mark Griffiths.

In a new interview with RightCasino.com, Dr Griffiths states that popular titles such as Zynga Poker and Slotomania are ‘conditioning’ underage users into becoming a new generation of online gamblers:

“Kids are being socially conditioned, behaviourally conditioned to know all the rules of the game, to know how to play
anecdotally I know a number of children who just can’t wait to be old enough to play on poker sites for instance." ...

One of the main reasons I never got Facebook was the games. Every person I knew with Facebook was flooded with requests on a daily basis; "x needs help plowing his field, can y boo row some seeds for planting, can j have a part to fix his ____?" The list went on... I had no interest in being bombarded by that. LOL

You know what's interesting- on a cereal packet (we only read today) the was an offer for free access to the game Angry Birds. The weird part was the warning underneath the offer- epileptic seizures and signs can occur whilst playing this game- even to those who do not have a history in epilepsy...
