Mozilla CEO Resigns From Post After Being Vilified for Supporting Prop 8

After less than a month on the job, Brendan Eich has stepped down as CEO of Mozilla, the company he co-founded, amid a firestorm of criticism he's received for making a 2008 donation to support a California amendment that defines marriage as being between one man and one woman.

Eich also resigned from his position as a board member on the Mozilla Foundation, the nonprofit that owns Mozilla Corporation. The creator of JavaScript scripting language helped build the popular web browser over a decade ago.

In 2008, Eich donated $1,000 in support of Proposition 8 that sought to amend the state constitution to define marriage as being between one man and one woman. The bill passed with 52 percent of the vote in the California state assembly and was approved by voters, but the Supreme Court overturned it in 2013. ...

I see that the Canadian tax service has shut down there online income tax site because of Heartbleed! Now, that may sound like good news for Canadians, but I bet they still will have to get there taxes in on time? Not sure if a site is safe from 'Heartbleed'? Use this tool to check.

I tried the latest Maxthon on 2012, and it seems to work okay. For my original tablet I like the Skyfire tablet -- alot It converts flash video to something viewable. It does the same for IOS devices too.

This has too be really paid attention to How to recover from Heartbleed

Remember both Google and Microsoft are big supporters of queerness, you know Chrome and Internet Explorer Browsers. Maxthon on Android I think to one look at the interface and didn't bother with it. Firefox on Android, doesn't seem to work for anything later than Jellybean.

I use Firefox on Linux and Windows, and don't remember having trouble checking in with either OS to SA. Linux has always been a secure OS, and always more secure than any Windows OS past or present.

Anyway, one may want to keep their older computers instead of being forced to buy new ones by Microsoft. It is rather easy to dual-boot Windows XP and Linux, see how to have both on the hard drive, e.g., How to dual boot Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux.

Hey Jim,
My rule is that I don't knock myself out doing any sort of research on the companies I supply my daily needs from, buy a TV from, clothing, a car, or whatever. I figure what they give moneyto in support is between them and God. I do pay attention though if a company or maker of a product I use is outed, or blatantly proud of funding anyrhing I consider evil. No, I won't make any difference to them but I'll feel better about it for myself.
Yes, Firefox still has memory problems and crash issues with the flash plugins, but very useful plugins, such as Tab View, etc. As far as I know, Maxthon is the only other plugin/ext rich browser, and I think its open source. Just never liked IE because even after all these years, Microsoft couldn't do any serious work on a browser that's stock with every PC.

I sort of wished that sa had made this a separate thread, about the end of Windows XP, or at least the support of it, which is today. End of Windows XP tech support: How it will affect you. one thing very nice about XP is that you could dual boot other operating systems with it, the most notable being linux. Linux never had the security problems of Windows, and it still doesn't! Some helpful information on having two different operating systems on your hard drive, can be found here.URL=https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot>WindowsDualBoot.

Chris, the support for Homosexuality is apparently even worse for the other companies, or at least just as bad. FireFox for android, only works well or at least passably on my tablet with jellybean, it works terrible on anything else if it works at all. Google is pro-queer as well, which makes Chrome. I have seen Maxthon, though it really didn't impress me that much.

Hi Angela, I meant to respond yesterday but had to switch off early so I wouldn't say things I would regret to someone on other threads.
I have the same dilemna because I use Firefox exclusively and have for many years. I'm addicted to the many useful plugins and extensions which are hard to beat. Anyway, we're probably lookibg at Chrome and Maxton, which I used years ago. Maxthon, if you like the bells and whistles of Firefox would be a good choice. Download and give it a try.
Did you notice the new news bit on the homosexual activists controlling Firefox now? Crazy new world.

No, UPS, it's the futility of the theonomic state, Dominion Theology/Kingdom Now/Reconstructionism--Blessing or Curse?. I think I gave an adequate explanation to the The Inadequacy of Moralism. Admittedly it's a long sermon, and I didn't get out that the last 20 minutes dealt with getting out the Gospel

By the way, as I pointed out you are really helping out the queer cause by supporting Microsoft and besides if you're using Windows XP, How to keep your PC secure when Microsoft ends Windows XP support. Using Windows XP, even now you should be using anything but Windows Internet Explorer. (Oh, this site will bring up sound at least for various things, so turn off the noise, unless you think the "noise" might be helpful to you.

So, using Microsoft Explorer is a bad idea, especially if you're a Windows XP user. I never used it except for the reason that it oomes up when I update the computers that I run XP on.

I'm not happy with Internet Explorer, but using Firefox at this point turns my stomach. It's up to each one of us to take a stand for truth and righteousness; boycotts are a good tool to use.

looks like a "test" is being created as to who has allegiance and who does not. the goal being that all give credence or face persecution.

You posted your ever popular "inadequacy of moralism' link.
Make it all fit together for me, Jim.
Maybe he is acknowledging that liberals find being moral inadequate and inappropriate so they stand for immoral laws and actions. (which he proved by noting that liberal Bill Gates supported gay marriage) See Jim is starting to move the right direction

It is sad that a business man cannot have a position that is opposite the liberal agenda. We see this with Hobby Lobby, Chik Fil A, and every other business, Christian or not, that takes a stand against the legitimization of perversion. If enough Christians would stand for those with morals, we wouldn't be in this mess.
