Scriptural error abounds, but Christians promote, blast 'Noah'

No one seems to be arguing whether Paramount Studios' "Noah" is a factual representation of Scripture, as the filmmaker has admitted it is not, but Christians disagree whether the movie will advance the Lord's Kingdom.

Christian academia, pastors and movie critics laud the production as a tool to encourage dialogue about the Bible, while some caution that viewing the film might birth doubt and inaccuracies in the hearts of believers. The $130 million production, directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Russell Crowe in the title role, opens today (March 28) in theatres.

Under an agreement with National Religious Broadcasters, Paramount has added to the opening credits the message, "The film is inspired by the story of Noah. While artistic license has been taken, we believe that this film is true to the essence, values and integrity of a story that is a cornerstone of faith for millions of ...

Will The Creator be deaf to one who persists in drawing His attention to the envy and hatred in the hearts of those who claim to know Him?
Can I not ask for justice against those who persecute me?
So then. I go to ask that He deliver the same justice to His friends as they do their enemies.
Let us see if this is legitimate.
You cannot even confess him! And you think your pretended piety counts for anything when you take pleasure in worldly pass times and going to see scripture twisting films gives you no pause?

You are a shameless worldling with skin deep religion.

The last Scipture I posted was to do with Jesus and Pharisee's. I can't open your eyes - only The Holy Spirit can do that. Maybe try reading from the beginning - understanding is sometimes given that way.
But sometimes if you don't understand something then you can ask The Spirit to help you. The verse is about how Jesus was treated by the Pharisee's. They only recognised their own authority and even in their hatred had him put to death.
I have simply resorted to only posting Scripture since usually any comment I make someone will come and refer me to scripture.
As Jesus himself noted in one of the gospels, there is a contrary spirit in the religious. 'When I came ... But when I came ... You called me a drunkard etc ..
You are transforming into a troll. Check your own pride and hateful heart.

John UK,

You said ' if only they would take pains to read it through and think very seriously about it.' Amen to that; instead, some spout out creeds and pull verses out of context all day long.

They ignore the warnings of Scripture like the one found in 2 Cor. 13:5, 'Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test?'
It's best to ignore, and to simply pray

Titus 3

Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peace-able, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malic and envy, hateful and hating one another.
But when kindness and the love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.

Oh, think, think, think on these things — and then perhaps you will be better able to tell the state of your soul!" Ryle
Greatly appreciated this quote from J.C. Ryle.

It sums up true Christian experience, for sure. And reveals the deception of many, if only they would take pains to read it through and think very seriously about it.

The Epistle of Paul to Titus.

Titus 1:12 - For their are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.
One of them - a prophet of their own - said: Cretans are always liars, evil beasts and gluttons.
This (the above) testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in faith, not giving heed to Jewish Fables and Commandments of Men who turn from the truth. To the pure all things are pure, but to the defiled nothing is pure, but even their mind and conscience are defiled.
They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

Phoebe, interesting lines you are drawing. the spiritual descendents of the pharasees are largely numbered in kabbalism. one and the same in many ways. I would argue that Christ is the solution to the deceptions of the antibiblical Noah movie. I am not trying to be harsh, but it seems that the battle you are having is within. I certainly do not approve of the film, the intentions of it are obvious, but if you want to follow that way, then choose, or choose the God of the bible. Its pretty clear cut. I have no anger towards you and only measuring the world with a biblical measurement.

Now, it happened on a certain day as He was teaching, that there were Pharisee's and teachers of the Law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Gallilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
Then behold, men brought out on a bed a man who was paralysed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the house-top and let him down with his bed through the tiling, into the midst before Jesus.

What we have given, so we will receive. In full measure.

Psalm 75 Thanksgiving for God's Righteous Judgment.
We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks! For your wondrous works proclaim your name is near.
When I chose the proper time, I will judge uprightly. The earth and all it's inhabitants are dissolved; I set up it's pillars firmly.
I said to the boastful, 'Do not deal boastfully' And to the wicked, 'Do not lift up your horn. Do not lift up your horn on high; do not speak with a stiff neck.'
For exultation comes neither from the East nor from the West nor from the South. But God is the Judge. He puts down one, and exalts another.
For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; It is fully mixed and he pours it out. Surely it's dregs shall all the wicked of the earth drain and drink down.
But I will declare forever I will sing praises to the God of Jacob "All the horns of the righteous shall be exalted".

Correction: Titus 1:15 reads ....
Actually he said everyone produces fruit and we will know them by their fruit. The fact that you choose to frequent worldly entertainment venues to support productions which knowingly pervert Scripture for the purposes of making money and feel no conscience about it, speaks volumes about the condition of your heart.

We've got used to verse launchers here who use the Scriptures to convey their own personal opinions, as though the Word of God can be so lighty treated with impunity.

What works have you seen here that deny God, are abominable, disobedient etc. I would say that those descriptions more aptly describe your worldly heart!

Do you have your husband's blessing writing all this trash?
