Nabisco Ad: Homosexuality 'Wholesome'

Nabisco added its voice to the current trend of forcing liberal social agendas by producing a commercial for their Honey Maid graham crackers and Teddy Grahams snacks showing a homosexual couple raising two children with a voiceover stating "this is wholesome."

The ad begins with a father bottle feeding his baby as another father slips in to kiss the baby's forehead. The commercial then meanders through a montage of families: mixed race, single dad, tattooed dad, military dad, and two dads. The voiceover says: ...

What kind of a church is the pope’s church? It is an uncertain, vacillating and tottering church. Indeed, it is a deceitful, lying church, doubting and unbelieving, without God’s Word. For the pope with his wrong keys teaches his church to doubt and to be uncertain. If it is a vacillating church, then it is not the church of faith, for the latter is founded upon a rock, and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it (Matt.16:18). If it is not the church of faith, then it is not the Christian church, but it must be an unchristian, anti-Christian, and faithless church which destroys and ruins the real, holy, Christian church. I know exactly when I was saved. It was in November 1997 during an Altar Call at my brothers Non Denominational Church when I decided to heed the prompting of the Holy Spirit to embrace Jesus as my Savior and trust in Him alone for salvation. And I do trust in Jesus alone for salvation. I sure don't trust in my Catholic Baptism or the Sacraments for salvation. Luther who disliked the Catholic Church did not even believe that the Catholic Church has a different jesus. Nobody who is born again and in their right mind believes that the Catholic Church has a different jesus.

John Y said"I have always believed in and worshipped the biblical and historical Jesus even before I became saved"

John Yurich. This is what God says about you, me, and all the rest before being saved! BEFORE BEING SAVED...

Ephesians 2:1-3 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

A child of wrath cannot worship much less believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:7-8 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

John Y...when The Holy Spirit shows you the truth in His Word...you see the power of God unleashed in his creating a new creature out of a child of wrath beginning with the simple but beautiful words of verse 4 in ch 2 of Ephesians...But GOD!

Doesn't say But John Y or But James Thomas. Its God. His work. His Glory!

The true Christ's propitiation/Sacrifice was accomplished on the cross.."It is finished."
I have always believed in and worshipped the biblical and historical Jesus even before I became saved. Luther as much as he disliked the Catholic Church did not even believe that the Catholic Church has a different jesus because he knew that the Creed states "WE BELIEVE IN ONE LORD JESUS CHRIST THE ONLY SON OF GOD" which is the biblical and historical Jesus that the Catholic Church believes in and worships.

As far as the Nabisco ads: Nabisco just follows suit of general marketing and advertising. Christians don't have a problem rallying around the superbowl to virtually support all of the unwholesomeness that is part and parcel to it. Christians can't expect to have double standards; we either need to be consistent or be quiet.

While there are some organizations, labels, manufacturers, etc, that we know we shouldn't support, I don't knock myself out wondering who is who and who does what, where, etc. If I hear about something I don't like, I'll stop buying a product or giving my business but that's as far as I go. I figure it like this: if I give the beggar a few bucks, I figure it's between them and God what the money gets used for. I did my part for good, but if they use it for bad, then they will be judged accordingly.

Skywriter, the anti-Semitism of Luther should be noted, Martin Luther Revisited. Yes, the only thing that is infallible is the Bible and not men. In fact this also true for Theology Adrift: The Early Church Fathers and Their Views of Eschatology.

Galatians 5
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.---NASB

When you go against what God says to do, you are sinning, if you do so constantly, you should start wondering if you're a Christian.

Apparently Nabisco is unwholesome in more ways than one, The Bible Says Homosexuality is Sin.

Luther was a Jew-hating reprobate. Hitler was a big fan.
Luther said: So when the devil says to you "Do not drink" answer him "I will drink, and right freely, just because you tell me not to. One must always do what Satan forbids. What other cause do you think that I have for drinking so much strong drink? Would that I could contrive some great sin to spite the devil, that he might understand that I would not even acknowledge it and that I was conscious of no sin whatsoever."

What does the bible say about drunkenness? You won't inherit the kingdom.

Nor murderers.

It's about time people like Luther, Calvin and Augustine were exposed for what they are.

Pretty much doesn't mean all. Therefore the facts are that there are scriptural Catholic doctrines and scriptural parts to the Mass. And thus if I only subscribe to the scriptural Catholic doctrines and only participate in the scriptural parts to the Mass then I am not taking part in the unscriptural aspects of the Catholic Church and thus I am not a hypocrite.

I was thinking of you subscribing only to the scriptural parts. Isn't that concept a little like if you subscribed to a mostly porn magazine, but only read the non-porn stuff?

John, thanks for your response.

If I am understanding you correctly, you are saying the following is what Catholics say they believe in their creed:

"Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and the Son of God. He is our Redeemer. But what do we mean when we say He is the Savior of the world? The Redeemer? Each of these titles point to the truth that Jesus Christ is the only way. Only by His mercy and grace can anyone be saved."

Also, if I am understanding you correctly the only current forum on which you post for evangelistic purposes against unbiblical Catholic teaching and the acceptance of Jesus alone as Savior is necessary for salvation is this one. What possessed you to think of this as a vast mission field? Did SteveR influence your thinking? Just wondering.

Also, if you were banned from Catholic forums, what does that tell you about what Catholics think about the truth? How does that harmonize with your statement that many are born again attending the Catholic Church if they don't preach the truth that you must accept Jesus alone for salvation?
