The Religious Life of Bill Gates

Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, revealed in a recent interview that his family goes to a Catholic church and that religious morality inspires a lot of his charity work. He also shared his personal thoughts on God and the biggest issues facing the world today.

"The moral systems of religion, I think, are super important. We've raised our kids in a religious way; they've gone to the Catholic church that Melinda goes to and I participate in. I've been very lucky, and therefore I owe it to try and reduce the inequity in the world. And that's kind of a religious belief. I mean, it's at least a moral belief," Gates says in an interview with Rolling Stone in the March 27 issue of the magazine. ...

Christopher000, I agree with you. Roman Catholics are not saved. If a few are, this is in spite of their Roman Catlicking system. Ephesians 2:8-9

Great comment, John YouKay. Right to the point. I don't understand how anyone can come out kicking and screaming in defense of the Roman system of salvation and false worship whenever they're spoken against. One forum member has said that Roman Catholics are saved, but just don't know it or how it happened. I think this is a very dangerous view because if it's been said here, I don't have much doubt that it's been said to comfort others in daily life; giving them conformation and telling them to stay put instead of trying to pull them out.

False. I don't believe in the Catholic way of salvation. I accept the biblical doctrine of salvation that salvation comes only through trusting in Jesus alone for salvation.

All, please remember what Christ taught us about stones and planks. Many denominations have it wrong. Don't let pride rob you of the Kingdom of Heaven. Be like little children.

Maybe he too does not participate in the Catholic parts to the Catholic church.

I saw Billy Gates, was a main liner robber baron, with a guilty conscience. It never struck me he was a Catholic, considering some of his charities have to do with birth control, if memory serves. In any event, some of you gentlemen have already pointed out, Should Roman Catholicism really be classified as a Christian religion? -- No.

Oh, Billy Gates as the wrong idea about morality also, The Inadequacy of Moralism

I find it ironic the story says Bill Gates is the richest man in the world, the pope or pontificate is the richest not Bill Gates.

The most deceitful, evil institution ever created by Satan, the Roman Catholic Organisation (RCO). What a clever counterfeit, so attractive, so religious, so historical, so assured, so powerful, so deceptive.

You're right Nat. It is very sad to see dear folks taken in by it.

Lets not forget that Bill Gates wants to lower the population with vaccines. He is not concerned with morals.

John Y, what does it matter if his kids are taught good morals, if they are also taught doctrines of devils?

Drop a meager $1M in the plate on Sunday then cast your $10B eugenic spell across Africa on Monday. There. No one complains of your generosity.

Bill Gates sounds like a good father. I applaud him for his desire to instill good morals in his children. Being a former 12year Catholic School attendee, I am speaking from experience. Mr. Gates has every reason to be concerned about Catholic School morality. The system might teach some morals, but not all teachers participate in the process. Thee next and greatest problem are the students. If you are sending your children to any kind of private school nowadays, you have every right to worry about your kid's. Besides the molestation that happens unreported, most kids are there because they are problem children. In my Catholic High School, we had two students in my grade level who were drug dealer's. And that was in the early 70's. I was studying to be a priest. Thank the LORD for saving me three years out of High-school. Kudos to Mr. Gates for doing the right thing with his children.

What is your problem anyway? You seem to believe that because Gates kids are being raised Catholic that they are being raised without morality. That is false. The Catholic Church teaches Christian morality to the kids.
