Baptism...the Duck Commander Way?
A New Jersey man drove at least 20 hours earlier this month to see “Duck Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson, arguably one of television’s most popular reality stars. But that’s not the story. The story is why he made the lengthy journey: to have the Robertson family member baptize him.

Brian Richards made the long trek from his home to White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe, La., where Robertson introduced him to the church on March 2, before publicly baptizing him.

“From New Jersey, I can count on one hand the people I met from New Jersey,” Robertson quipped, before telling the congregation about Richards’ long journey to the house of worship. ...

Unprofitable servant,

I don't know about you and observer, but I can clearly see the manifestations of the multitude of heresies spouted by self incriminating vain talkers, and deceivers. It's also really quite educational to learn the various fallacious arguments and tactics they employ. They fail to see the service they provide.

The only way to look at those verses and assume they refer to infants is to bring that ASSUMPTION to the reading BEFORE you read it. AGAIN, you Presbies MAKE UP INTERPRETATION to say that the households contained INFANTS, I can by the same authority you claim there are infants and say with certainty that everyone was in their mid teens and above. Some of the verses he mentioned didn't even have the greek work oikos in the verse! No verse referenced, because they don't exist, say that baptism is the seal of the covenant of grace. This is why you get accused of twisting Scripture because you make it say things that just aren't there. Instead of lining yourselves up with the Bible you try and make the Bible line up with your incorrect beliefs. You change history, you deny what even your founders acknowledge, you change even the current meaning of greek words to give children a false hope, and try to dictate to God whom He must save on a false premise. It is sad to see this forum overrun with false doctrine. But I am sure I will get more quotes from commentaries and confessions. blather on

btw the way infants does appear 3x but in no text cited yet

Good teaching oikos. Don't worry your comments like this are not wasted. Not everyone reading these comments are blasphemers.

Lydia and her "household" were baptised. Household in Greek is oikos.

"And here, be it observed, that the word used by the Holy Ghost is not oikia which signifies a man’s household or servants, but oikos which, when relating to persons, means “family,” and has special reference to infant children. Taylor, editor of “Calmet’s Dictionary of the Bible.” gives no less than fifty examples of oikos in the sense of family. The word oikos, relating to persons, always includes little children. See Gen. 34:30; Num. 16:27,32; Deut. 25:9: Ruth 1:12: Psalm 113:9; 1 Sam. 2:33. When the Jews then read that Lydia and her house (oikos), the ,jailer and his house (oikos). and the house (oikos) of Stephanas were baptized, would they not attach the same idea to the word oikos that their sacred writers had done for upwards of two thousand years, and understand it to mean a man’s or a woman’s children—infants included?" (Rev W.A.McKay)

"Baptism is a sign and seal of the covenant of grace, and of the cleansing away of sins by union with Christ (Mark 1:4; Col 2:11,12; Gal 3:27). This sacred ordinance is performed in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (Matt 3:11; 28:19; John 1:33), and is rightly administered by sprinkling or pouring water on the applicant (Ezek 36:25-27; Heb 9:10, 19-22; Acts 2:41;16:33; Mark 7:4). [Note that in Heb 9:10 washings is literally baptisms in the Greek, and that in the original Greek of Mark 7:4 the tables or couches undergoing the Old Testament ceremonial washing by sprinkling (cf. Numb 8:7,19:18) are literally said to be baptized, thus destroying the notion that the Greek word baptizo refers to dipping rather than ceremonial cleansing in the New Testament.]

The Old Testament sign of the covenant of grace was circumcision, which, like baptism, represents the taking away of sin by union with the crucified and risen Christ: “In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead" (S.J.Tanner)

John UK writes,

Church of Christ founded by son of a Presbyterian? What do you expect?

R. K. Borill responds,

I guess this means The Lord wasn't a Baptist because even one of his Apostles was a devil. Only the Baptists are free of apostates.

John 6:70-71 KJV
[70] Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? [71] He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

Words not as fancy as the RCC priest craft book, but sounds a lot like "baptismal regeneration" to me.
This is way out even for these Arminian heretics.
