Actor Who Abandoned Hollywood for His Christian Faith

Former “Two and a Half Men” star Angus T. Jones surprised viewers in November 2012 when he announced that he had embraced Christianity and was struggling with the starring television role he had played for nearly a decade.

Now, he’s speaking out about his faith and explaining why he eventually left the comedy behind, calling himself a “paid hypocrite” for continuing to work on the show even though he wasn’t comfortable with its content.

Jones, who played the character Jake Harper in the sitcom, was still an active “Two and a Half Men” cast member when he called the program “filth” and announced that he no longer wanted to be a part of it. He ended up apologizing over his comments, though he later left the cast in 2013.

One year after exiting, Jones is going to school in Colorado and speaking to church audiences about his experience getting closer to God and leaving Hollywood. ...

Speaking of seventh day adventist, yesterday at work, one of the truck drivers quit, and I had to do an unseated truck inspection. Inside the cab I found a book by Elllen White the driver left. I thought " What a coinsidence" and meant to take it and read through it just to see what it said, but forgot to grab it when I was done. Oh well, it was probably unbiblical anyway.

Hi John, sorry but John and the others are right. A creed is nothing but words, and any real creed is based upon what a religion teaches and practices. Everything, and so much more that people said is easily proven using Romes own words. The church very clearly worships Mary and even goes so far to say that salvation is not possible without her. Also remember that according to them, she is omniscient, omnipresent, co-redemtrix, co-mediatrix, worthy to be prayed to, considered to be the mother of God, which is very misleading, and so much more, John. This has all been said 1000x and I wish you would do your own unbiased studies to find out what you are really a part of. We don't hate Roman Catholics, we hate the false religion they have been duped by because they refuse to open their bibles. Anyone can make up a creed, John, but you must get past that and investigate what they really believe and teach using their own words and the bible alone. The creed is just a curtain that hides a very diabolical system of false worship.

The wretched Roman Catholic "Church" esteems Mary higher even than the Lord of Glory, the Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son, the only name under heaven by which we must be saved.

Spend a day trawling the web for thousands of images of men and women worshipping a statue, bowing down to it, kissing its feet, leaving prayers in the nook, carrying the statue about like as if it was the ark of the covenant, singing songs to it, and a thousand and one other wretched things they try to do. I hate to break the news to you John, but Mary is UNKNOWN in heaven. She is now like the angels, like everyone else. If you make it to heaven, you will not recognise her there.

You need to focus all your thinking on the Lord Jesus. He will be the object of worship in heaven, the Lamb of God who died to save a chosen people and in due time calls them to himself.

It doesnt have to be in their creeds, they make Mary a god in their heart every time they pray to her and bow down to graven images of her.

The Eastern Orthodox Church doesn't worship the Virgin Mary and the Saints as if they were gods. I know all about the Eastern Orthodox Church as my Great Grandparents(Mother's Grandparents) were Eastern Orthodox and my Great Aunt(Mother's Aunt) was also Eastern Orthodox. My Grandmother(Mother's Mother) was raised Eastern Orthodox but converted to the Catholic Church when she married my Grandfather(Mother's Father).
So, John Yurich, what does the verse mean that a little leaven, leavens the whole lump? also, you can't send forth both fresh water and bitter from the same fountain?

It is only your warped opinion that the Catholic Church worships the Virgin Mary and the Saints as if they were gods. No normal Evangelical Protestant beliefs such insanity. The Creed doesn't mention anything about the Virgin Mary and the Saints being divine. The Creed states "WE BELIEVE IN ONE GOD THE FATHER ALMIGHTY. WE BELIEVE IN ONE LORD JESUS CHRIST THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD. WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT THE LORD AND GIVER OF LIFE.". That should be proof enough from the Creed that the Catholic Church worships only the One True God of the Bible, is dedicated to Jesus and that the Catholic Church doesn't consider the Virgin Mary and the Saints to be divine.

John MacArthur wrote:
We spent three weeks discussing what the Catholic Church essentially says about Mary. We've talked about their devotion to Mary. We've talked about their doctrine regarding Mary. In the end, when all is said and done, the very obvious dominant perception is that they worship Mary. In fact, on a pragmatic basis they worship Mary far more than they worship even the Lord Jesus Christ and far more than they worship the true and living God. It is idolatry in the clearest form.

I agree that the Holy Spirit would lead individuals who have embraced Jesus and have put their trust in Him alone for salvation to leave Cults that don't worship Jesus as God like the 7th Day Adventists, Mormonism, Christian Science, Jehovah Witnesses and unite with a church that worships Jesus as God whether that be Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Mainline Protestant or Evangelical Protestant even if church attendance/membership is totally superfluous to ones gaining entrance into Heaven upon ones demise.

I wonder how many "Christians" are prepared to leave their work and vocation for what they believe in? (Even if religious people will condemn them for their beliefs)

And to leave their industry in such a very public circumstance. I commend the young lad for his courage and for his sincerity and fortitude in his beliefs regardless of what they may be in this early stage of his life.

Of course there are most likely some 7th Day Adventists who are Born Again by having embraced Jesus as their Savior and trust in Him alone for salvation.

John, you dont think believing Jesus Christ is Michael the archangel is heresy? He would be better off spiritually in a church that teaches the truth, that Jesus Christ is God.
I most certainly do think that believing that Jesus is Michael the archangel is heresy. I was not cognizant that was a doctrine of the 7th Day Adventist Church. And I was not cognizant that the 7th Day Adventist Church denies that Hell exists. In that case I now believe that the 7th Adventist Church is a Cult.

Thanks US, that is a tremendous resource and refutation! Bookmarked on my laptop for future reference. What an example of church subterfuge, trying to gain acceptance with Christians by putting forward what seems to be common doctrines yet leaving out vital beliefs which are evidently false doctrine.
