Islamic Extremists in Somalia Behead Two Christians
Islamic extremists from the rebel Al Shabaab militia last week publicly beheaded a mother of two girls and her cousin in southeastern Somalia after discovering they were Christians, sources said.

In the port town of Barawa in the Lower Shebelle Region, the extremists on March 4 called residents to the town center to witness the executions of the 41-year-old mother, Sadia Ali Omar, and her 35-year-old cousin, Osman Mohamoud Moge, the sources said.

Before killing them, an Al Shabaab militant announced, “We know these two people are Christians who recently came back from Kenya – we want to wipe out any underground Christian living inside of mujahidin [jihadists’] area,” according to an area resident whose name is undisclosed for security reasons. ...

RK, yes, this is what I find so difficult about prophecy. It should be possible to arrive at the truth. After all, the Jews who heard the Lord speak these things presumably ought to have understood his words or, if not, at least someone, somewhere, ought to have understood. I've grappled with it for decades, and would still like to know what it was that the "current generation" saw fulfilled in their day. And if they did see prophecy fulfilled, what guarantee is there that a "future implication" is yet to come to pass or not? You see the problem?

Thank you RK,

I have a great difficulty with Matthew 24, in understanding it, because it seems to me that there are things mentioned relating to near future and also to the end of the world.

For instance

Matthew 24:31 KJV
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

I would have said that this text refers to the end of the world. Yet a few verses later, we have your quoted text which said that the current generation would see these things:

Matthew 24:34 KJV
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Hence the dilemma.

No, we are no seeing the Book of Revelation being lived out now. For one thing, I do believe many here are Christians, if this were the tribulational period, we wouldn't be here, we would have been raptured, q.v., Reasons for the Rapture

Matthew 24
21 for then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall.
22 "And unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days shall be cut short.---NASB

So, no, the Tribulation hasn't happened, q.v., An Interpretation of Matthew 24—25.

that's right, RK, we see the book of Revelations being lived out right now, and the book was given to believers for days such as this.

Ah, Chris, yes, it is basically Islam's Global War against Christianity, they attack Buddhists and any other religion besides, when they run out of other religions than they fight amongst themselves. You should have the website, Islam: The Religion of Peace handy, so you can somewhat keep track of the murderous tally of Islam.

Isn't it interesting how it is that only biblical Christianity is under attack? Consider the 10's of 1000's false religions, cults, etc, around the globe and you never hear a peep about any one of them as far as any force coming against them. Isn't that interesting? Hmmm. Follow the inventions and fables that mankind dreams up and you are accepted into the fold and can live in peace. Follow the God of the bible and you are a hostile enemy to the world at large. Interesting.
