How to engage young people with the Bible
Despite an interest in spirituality, ethics and social justice, over 70 per cent of young people never read the Bible, research has found.

The findings are detailed in the Bible Society Australia's new report, 'The Bible according to Gen Z', and reveal, according to editor Adrian Blenkinsop, that young people are struggling to connect and engage with Scripture.

"Generation Z doubts the authenticity and relevance of the Bible, struggles with its language and is baffled by its stories of strange rituals, bizarre laws and violence," he says, noting that this is the same in almost every developed country. ...

The purpose of the church is education in truth. I am afraid is what we have now days is "arm waving sea weed make me feel good concerts" that passes for worship.

Jude 1:19 KJV
[19] These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

The previous note goes without saying that it should be a good church with a bible emphasis Sunday School. The purpose of the church is education in truth.

Matthew 28:19-20 KJV
[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Maybe this is because generation X never took their children - generation Z to church. Can't leave that responsibility up to others.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 KJV
[6] And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: [7] And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

2 Timothy 3:15 KJV
[15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

If "interest in spirituality" is defined as going to Wednesday youth group to hang out with some friends and the preaching a side note, then there should be no surprise here. Youth groups do not save a people, only the Word of God can do that!

Youth groups cannot work great. That's like saying Catholics are Christians too.

Youth groups certainly work great at IHCC, TD, Children's Ministries at IHCC.

But of course, the primary source of the upbringing of children are the parents. Parents are Christians one would hope! Instructions to Husbands, Fathers and Their Wives --and-- Instructions to Wives, Mothers and Their Husbands

So, far John Y., that knowledge has been wasted on you, I'm sorry to say because you should Come Out Of The Catholic Church.

Young people should be given a good accurate, and modern Bible,

Doug Kutilek wrote:
Let me say it again--the sole justification for producing and publishing any Bible translation is so that those who do not understand the words in the original languages can nevertheless gain access to them through words they do understand in their own language....To enslave English readers to a single translation which is often archaic and obscure, occasionally wholly unintelligible and sometimes plainly inaccurate when other versions that remedy these defects are easily accessible is a monument to mere human tradition and is, as it were, to spit in the face of the very purpose of Bible translation, and to deny to the mere English reader the fuller knowledge of God and His revelation he could have if, IF such obstacles were removed by use of a revised translation which conforms to current English usage, and the infallible standard of the original text.

Since a true assault rifle is one that can be switched from full auto to semi auto, the civilian models are not assault rifles because they are only semi auto. Of course this wont stop the liberal media from using a scary term that misrepresents the object of their irrational fears.

When I was growing up I was encouraged by my parents to read the Bible. I know the outline of the Bible so well that I can go to any book in the Bible within a matter of seconds.
