Santorum: Republicans Need to Be More Like Pope Francis

Republicans should learn from Pope Francis how to better communicate their message, Rick Santorum, former Pennsylvania senator and 2012 Republican presidential candidate, argued Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Republicans focus too much of their message on attracting business owners rather than workers, attacking President Barack Obama and explaining what they are against rather than what they are for, Santorum claimed. Instead, Santorum urged Republicans to reach out to those who are hurting and to talk about how their policies will help them. And to do that, learn from Pope Francis.

"I think we need to take a lesson from someone who is maybe the most popular person in the world right now — Pope Francis," he said.

Like Francis, Santorum wants Republicans to reach out to those who are suffering, and to talk about their positive policy agenda. ...

There you go, Jimbo. If you really want the rich to pay more money to the government, the clear solution is to lower their tax rates, also cut capital gains taxes and eliminate the death penalty. So, because you think the rich are not paying enough, then we must conclude you want to cut their taxes. Smart idea.

Let's see what you are talking about. The verses I think you refer to are from Rev. 13.

Revelation 13:3 KJV
[3] And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

If this only one man we are talking about he must have multiple heads. This one man must also be a "beast".

Now, I submit that one of the heads of the Papacy was wounded to death spiritually and in doctrine by Martin Luther and the reformers. Although wounded to death he still lives, and he has even more power to blaspheme.

Now, there is another beast coming up from the earth: the Pentecostals.

Revelation 13:11 KJV
[11] And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
Revelation 13:13-14 KJV
[13] And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, [14] And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles whic

70% of all tax revenue comes from the top wage earners and Jim from Lincoln does think that is enough. Almost fear to ask, what pray tell would you think is a fair share? The bottom 50% pay approximately 3% of all taxes, do you think they are paying their fair share?
That's easy, whatever percentage would make them poor as well, all must be equal, everybody has everything or nobody has anything....except the elite of course who laugh at people like Jim knowing he and other useful....uh,people are helping to usher in the next great society of Kings and Queens and half starved cottage dwelling basket weavers.

I have seen those statistics before, but it takes common sense to realize that the people with the most money pay most of the bills.

Perhaps Santorum should join the Democrats. Obamacare reaches out to the poor.
Democrats create the poor then buy their votes with money from the middle class trying to not be poor,it makes the lives of those who have worked to educate themselves and be productive harder while making the lives of those who do and contribute nothing better....meanwhile the realy rich keep their money like they always have....all we are doing is creatimg more poverty with anti job anti work liberal democrat policies....pretty soon we will have to vote for them or starve.

Rick Santorum maybe like Francis if he decides that he will "reach out" with other people's money to.

The taxes paid by people in States that opt out won't go to pay for the abortions in other States, right? You actually think the taxes that pay for Obamacare will be compartmentalized into 50 units? I guess believing that helps the old conscience in some way.

You are part of a growing constituency

Ironically, the source of this quote is from an article in the 'The Daily Beast'(A Jesuit favorite)

"In an NBC news piece titled “Not Everyone Loves Francis,” Boston College theology professor Thomas Groome pondered whether or not true Catholic conservatives would be able to keep supporting the Pope’s new approach towards acceptance and mercy and still keep their faith. “I think it will be a real test for conservative Catholics,” he told NBC. “They have always pointed the finger, quoting the Pope for the last 35 years. Suddenly, will they stop quoting the Pope? It’ll be a good test of whether or not they’re really Catholics.”

It shows that income taxes have to be raised on the wealthiest, that is for certain, Income Inequality Worse Under Obama Than George W.Bush. The sanctified greed, of the Greedy Old Party has to be more thoroughly attacked. Too bad Santorum is in the Popes' pockets and their wish is his command, considering that filthy church, Secrets of the Vatican (video). He should have put some distance between himself and even this present Pope, Jesus Christ, Our One & Only High Priest and
Requirements of Every High Priest
.

Mike of NY, if one's state opted out of the abortion section of the plan--apparently NY didn't-- no one would be paying for those abhorrent services, and meanwhile, American Way of Birth, Costliest in the World has helped it costs to be lowered.

Are you sure? Poverty level under Obama has broken a 50-year record. He seems to reach out and create more poverty with his policies. Only slightly over 10% of the previously uninsured have signed up for Obamacare, not helping them. Also, under ACA, Medicare is cut by 716 billion dollars. You might want to reconsider that statement.

Indeed. Obamacare reaches out to the poor middle class, and seniors, and steals from them to pay for abortions and contraceptives, that which some here call healthcare for women. What a deal!

Does Catholic dogma agree with John Yurich that not believing in transubstantiation is not against Catholic morals?

"Like Baptism, the Eucharist is necessary for salvation to be received either sacramentally or in desire. Christ's words, "if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you will not have life in you" (John 6:53), means that Holy Communion is necessary to sustain the life of grace in a person who has reached the age of reason

The main reason that I would use to argue that the Eucharist is necessary for salvation is because Grace is necessary for salvation, and in the Eucharist there is Grace. That’s what Jesus is really saying in John 6 – that if we don’t receive the Eucharist, we will not have Grace within us"

http://standrewparish.blogspot.com/2009/05/is-eucharist-necessary-for-salvation.html

also confirmed at several Catholic forums, they teach no salvation without it. Do you think you can find a priest who thinks it is okay not to venerate Mary and offer prayers to her or use the Rosary? Obviously, his "beliefs" are against Catholic morals, care to try again John?

It's good to know you don't participate in the Catholic parts to the Catholic church. And it is understandable why you don't want your priest to know.

Rev. 13:13 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Wow!
Your beast is up to 265 heads. Another 35 heads the RCC will have enough to win the luciferian antiGideon award. Maybe 36 because one pope was posthumously found guilty of having acceded to the papacy illegally in the Cadaver Synod of 897AD. Or is that your head that was wounded to death and lived though Formosus was still very dead when his papacy retroactively declared null?
