Hacking the Bible
"There are about 30 modern, high-quality translations of the Bible in English," Smith announces to the BibleTech group. "Can we combine these translations algorithmically into something that charts the possibility space of the original text?"

In other words, Smith is going to show the room what he calls his Franken-Bible maker. It's YouVersion, if that name actually meant what it suggests. With minimal effort—and no knowledge of Greek or Hebrew—you can create your own English Bible translation. You, dear reader, may not be interested in having your own personal translation that's different from the three on your shelf. But might you like one from your favorite celebrity pastor? Wouldn't a Max Lucado Version sell well? The Southern Baptist Convention has its own translation. Can a Mars Hill Church Standard be all that far behind? ...

I suggest you start using the Latin Vulgate, it was longer than any other Bible! Why I Do Not Think the King James Bible Is the Best Translation Available Today.

For one thing there aren't that many good versions of the Bible, Comparing Bible Translations, or to shorten things up for some of you, Comparing Bible Translations--Conclusions.

Actually, there's some who think that teaching and using a 450 year-old Bible is the way to go, and pastors don't need to know Greek and Hebrew, wrong

Martin Luther wrote:
If through our neglect we let the languages go (God forbid!), we shall lose the gospel too. It is inevitable that unless the languages remain, the gospel must finally perish.

When our faith is held up to ridicule, where does the fault lie? It lies in our ignorance of the languages; and there is no way out than to learn the languages. It is also a stupid undertaking to attempt to gain an understanding of Scripture by laboring through the commentaries of the fathers and a multitude of books and glosses. Instead of this, men should have devoted themselves to the languages.

You don't hack the bible, the bible hacks you.
I like to call it a GPS sometimes. In one sense it tells you where to go etc;
In another sense, it's an acronym.
G - God
P - performing
S - surgery
After all, it is sharper than any 2 edged sword
