Dalai Lama to lead US Senate prayers

The Dalai Lama will lead the US Senate in prayer on Thursday as the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader meets leaders of Congress, his office said.

It will mark the first time that the Dalai Lama -- whose activities overseas are strongly opposed by China -- will deliver the prayer that customarily opens each Senate session.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner will later meet leaders of both the Senate and House of Representatives, said Kaydor Aukatsang, a spokesman for the Office of Tibet. A Senate aide confirmed the Dalai Lama's meetings.

Last month, the Dalai Lama, who fled his homeland in 1959 for India amid an abortive uprising against Chinese rule, met President Barack Obama, the fourth consecutive sitting US leader whom the Tibetan leader has seen. ...

No doubt the reincarnation will look like Mao Tse Tung and carry a little red book?

I see the Congress will listen to everyone except the people who have voted them in. A Call to Pray for the Salvation of All.

I cant tell you how much heartache I have experienced studying nationstates that have abused religion for their own wicked purposes. Protestant, Catholic, Hindu, you name it, if money and power were the result of persecution, it happened. But today a comedy...listen to this

The Chinese Government has been waiting for the current Dali Lama to pass on, to buy off his 'reincarnated' successor. One that will accept Chinas ownership of Tibet. In response, the current DL says he wont reincarnate. All of a sudden the Atheist Chinese Government has become very religious concerned the the DL is violating sacred tradition. To defend the faith its now the Chinese Governments decision whether there will be a reincarnated Dali Lama.

I just had a horrible thought! what is Satan's Emissary, the Pope, wants to pray with Congress! Let's hope the chief pagan during his wanderings doesn't come around when Congress is in session! The Pope and the Papacy.

True

Since the number of Christians are next to to none in the Senate, probably all prayers have a political content, but for a Christian who shouldn't have been there, Prayer is not shared with non-Christians.

Yes, we are all unhappy what China has done to to Tibet, but the D.L. probably even realizes he has to try to accommodate to Chinese control.

Next up to lead the prayer will be Joel Osteen! Or how about the chaplain for the team that won the last Superbowl--ummm...Seattle, that's right!
I think the real impact will not be from what he says but what China thinks of what he says, and how much importance anyone gives to his political message about Tibet.
I think most people like his 'spiritual message' but don't want to be bothered with the uncomfortable facts of what China is doing to Tibet.

Do you mean like the "Brave German Woman" who even CBN could tell and report is wonderfully unusual in our compromised and cowardly modern men pleasing churches?

No! NOT that kind of righteous man who would have a holy anger over false religion to stand up and make it known.

What wrath they are storing up for themselves!!! Christ will laugh at them when their derision comes from their own foolishness.

Psalm 2:4 KJV
[4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Then where will the Dolly be? Back at the Toys R Us.
