The Dalai Lama will lead the US Senate in prayer on Thursday as the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader meets leaders of Congress, his office said.
It will mark the first time that the Dalai Lama -- whose activities overseas are strongly opposed by China -- will deliver the prayer that customarily opens each Senate session.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner will later meet leaders of both the Senate and House of Representatives, said Kaydor Aukatsang, a spokesman for the Office of Tibet. A Senate aide confirmed the Dalai Lama's meetings.
Last month, the Dalai Lama, who fled his homeland in 1959 for India amid an abortive uprising against Chinese rule, met President Barack Obama, the fourth consecutive sitting US leader whom the Tibetan leader has seen....
I just had a horrible thought! what is Satan's Emissary, the Pope, wants to pray with Congress! Let's hope the chief pagan during his wanderings doesn't come around when Congress is in session! The Pope and the Papacy.

Since the number of Christians are next to to none in the Senate, probably all prayers have a political content, but for a Christian who shouldn't have been there, Prayer is not shared with non-Christians.
Yes, we are all unhappy what China has done to to Tibet, but the D.L. probably even realizes he has to try to accommodate to Chinese control.
Next up to lead the prayer will be Joel Osteen! Or how about the chaplain for the team that won the last Superbowl--ummm...Seattle, that's right! I think the real impact will not be from what he says but what China thinks of what he says, and how much importance anyone gives to his political message about Tibet. I think most people like his 'spiritual message' but don't want to be bothered with the uncomfortable facts of what China is doing to Tibet.

Leatherneck Do you mean like the "Brave German Woman" who even CBN could tell and report is wonderfully unusual in our compromised and cowardly modern men pleasing churches? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYyhb9bnPwQ
No! NOT that kind of righteous man who would have a holy anger over false religion to stand up and make it known.
