Judge Rules ‘Religious’ Veterans Monument Unconstitutional Endorsement of Christianity

A federal judge in California has ruled that a veterans monument that includes the symbol of the cross is an unconstitutional endorsement of Christianity.

As previously reported, the city council of Lake Elsinore unanimously approved the creation of the monument in November 2012, which was to be erected in Diamond Stadium. The 5-0 vote followed a public hearing where over 100 residents attended to voice their opinion, mainly in support of the display.

However, the 6-foot granite monument was met with disapproval by atheist groups and others who asserted that one aspect of its design went too far. The monument, which declares, “In honor of our brave men and women who by their service give life to our most precious gift — freedom,” also depicts a soldier kneeling before a row of cemetery markers in the shape of a cross. A star of David is also featured on the display, as well as an American flag ...

What is it about "Congress shall make no law" does that judge not understand? The Constitution is "by the People" and is law over the governing bodies NOT the citizen..

Our rights are being taken away faster&faster. We need to get the courage from God and oppose these humanists who are trying to stop all mention of our Creator & God Almighty.

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

There was an attempt on the part of Numbers 21 to address you both from the New and Old Testaments, but I pushed the wrong keys and lost my Scripture argument related to the time it took to do so. This was all that surfaced from my lengthy attempt, it must suffice.

I am also reminded of the inaugural, Lord's Day violating idolatrous revelry, and celebration around the Lincoln memorial in 2008. Case in point.

A nation of men and not of law is what the judge is after. He is clueless as to constitutionality, and should be removed from office for incompetence. He cannot find anywhere in the Constitution that a local community has not the right to put up a monument of this type. It isn't within the realm of central govt business, for it is not specifically spelled out in the Constitution. The right thing for the city council to do is uphold the law, and put it up anyway.

II Kings 24:3 And he (Hezekiah) did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father did.
4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.
While the destruction of the bronze serpent is one of the most powerful Scripture Proofs against idolatry, I dont believe it applies here. The bronze item was not destroyed until AFTER people started worshipiing it as an idol, and as you know Hezekiah reigned centuries after this Picture of our LORD was raised in the wilderness. I view this as the courts refusal to allow Veterans to illustrate the service & sacrifice made by Religious Persons(predominantly Christian) for this country

6 And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

8 And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

What could possibly happen you ask?

Lake Elsinore, California should disregard that stupid and insane judge's ruling and keep that veterans monument in place. What could possibly happen if that monument was left in place?
