Road to Damascus Wasn't Enough: Apostle Paul Questions Nearly Get Christian Deported
A Chinese Christian's hopes for asylum in America now have new life, after an appellate court overturned a denial from a judge who found that the applicant's answers to questions about Christianity were "hesitant" and "evasive."

The case is the latest example of how immigration boards often deny refugees claiming persecution for not knowing enough about their religion—and how courts continue to reverse such rulings.

Chang Qiang Zhu's behavior began to suffer only after the immigration judge asked him specific questions, such as what form of persecution the Apostle Paul used against Christians and what year Paul converted to Christianity, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals recently ruled. [Paul is currently the featured subject of the world's largest Bible class, hosted by Harvard University.] ...

The answer to the first question is in the book of Acts and he could be a Christian without knowing these facts that are not essential to his salvation. The date of Paul's conversion ? necessary for salvation?

Didn't read the whole article the beginning seemed sketchy. Is persecution for Christianity the only asylum requirement for a Chinese refugee?

No pathway to citizenship for him. He couldn't tell the judge what year Paul converted to Christianity. Oh dear. How many Christians know such meaningless information? No pathway to citizenship for him. Now if he were a Mexican illegal....

Interesting article, it still didn't help one decide if one should accept a refugee, because he claimed to be a Christian or just someone ready to have the good economic life this country and Canada affords.

A fellow by the name of David Lloyd Jones made a comment at the end of the article, which pointed out that a non-religious country like Sweden had a much more larger percentage of of it's population could name the authors of the Gospels while the United States which proudly claims it is the most Christian of countries came in last for being able to do it!

It is apparent a lot of these immigrants aren't coming to this country because they were persecuted for being Christian.

If I were the Chinese Christian, I would have asked the judge "How did the Apostle Paul define The Gospel?"
