Hi Matt, well how about that. I wouldn't have considered a born again Christian wanting to plant a church a "creeper" though...ha-ha. I'm still somewhat new to this, and probably don't know as much as I should for certain reasons, but if I can help in any way... Not sure what a new testament church is, but I know the area and, well, with RI and MA being predominantly Roman Catholic, a doctrinally sound, sola scriptura based church is always a welcome addition.
1 Corinthians 6 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.---NASB
While you note the mentions of queers in the above verses, also note there are other sins that God finds offensive. JSC I found your post well said, and one should never forget The Inadequacy of Moralism.
Before any comments regarding intollerence come out I think it wise to first consider how you would respond when taking a very unpopular position and having to defend it and this guy is dealing with world leaders. I deal with this at work daily as I am the only christian and am very outspoken and engaging amoungst ravenous wolves. Homosexuality is a vile perversion and is quite violent. That being said I have worked with sexual offenders and the vileness of their crimes is mirrored by what was perpetrated against them. Just keep that in mind while being kind enough to share the gospel with them, never excusing their sin
Sinners are disgusting vile wretches and the beauty of the incarnation is that Jesus actually entered our sinful world to rescue us. Homosexuals need Jesus, but you don't treat them as less than you are. Are you praying for their souls or being God for swift judgment?
Well, the act certainly is, that's for sure and I'm glad that others are standing against it, unlike the weak, politicaly correct, tax payer funded mosque building abroad, US government. Over the weekend, my wife tried to pull the "well, they're born that way" card. I was fuming because we have been over this and it is simply something new that the community is using to infect the next generation. Convince them of this nonscense and it makes everything ok....God just made us this way. I tried to tell her what the Bible say, that it would make God a liar, that he would have no right to judge them, etc, and she just kind of snickered I said, look Michelle, you either believe the bible is Gods inspired Word or you don't. You believe it all, or you don't. His Word is black and white, there are no gray areas, parts we can choose to ignore, and comprimise is never acceptable. She is so lost but she, like everyone else, believes the mass and baptism will save, no matter how worldly...
Romans 1:27-28 "And likewise the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient."
