Teacher support for Common Core at ‘critical juncture’
The rollout of the Common Core academic standards is at a “critical juncture,” as teachers are increasingly skeptical of the initiative — and could turn against it in large numbers, scuttling its chances of success, the president of the nation’s largest teachers union said Thursday.

Dennis Van Roekel, president of the National Education Association, told POLITICO that he intended to sound a very loud alarm bell when he wrote an open letter this week warning that implementation of the Common Core has been “completely botched.” ...

Of course they're critical no doubt many spent four years in a drunken haze going through college, so only have a foggy idea of the topics they are suppose to teach about. "Those who can do, those who can't teach." (GB Shaw if memory serves)

This is where trickle down does work --and probably the only place-- many vocational schools learn if they don't deliver the goods and the great majority of their students get jobs, they're out of a job

The same should be true of K-Grad School, and businesses can make sure public schools tow the line, by such things as, The New Post-College Assessment: Good for Business

So, yes, teacher unions may turn against it (noticed that word, "union," which some of you are ignoring?) It's about time teachers on the whole, not the few, start delivering the goods, also. Common Core is disliked, it isn't for the ignorant.

Should compulsory education by the state even be happening? Most of what it teaches is to follow the loudest, 'coolest', leaders; usually away from G-d.

Homeschooling to the rescue, keep'em home and keep their eyes, hearts, and minds purer! Protect them!

Completely botched, really. How many have predicted that?

Scary thought is, is it intentionally botched to give ability to say, "You did it wrong states, let the dept of Education do it directly."
