Kentucky gay marriage: Judge says state must recognize gay marriages

A federal judge has ruled that Kentucky must recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states, pointing not only to recent decisions that have struck down bans in other states but also to older rulings on a person's right to marry.

The state's ban treated "gay and lesbian persons differently in a way that demeans them," U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn wrote Wednesday. While the case dealt with out-of-state marriages, it does not require the state to perform same-sex marriages.

We need to pray that this judge gets saved or that God brings judgment down on his head, whichever God Wills! In the meantime, this judge needs to be impeached and removed from office!

The "judge" is wrong.

Why doesn't Kentucky have to recognize Colorado's marijuana's laws?

If one state has to recognize another state's law. Then they have to recognize all other state's laws. It's only fair.

A nuclear attack on America perhaps? One that takes out Cruz, McConnell, and most of many states in America, including Kentucky.

And I [God] will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

It seems to me that "pillars of smoke" is an exact description of what resulted when America dropped two atomic bombs on Japan and what has occurred through the testing of nuclear weapons by various countries of the world.

You make an excellent point Mike

I suspect his problem is the same as Strat's referred to in my 2/15/14 9:42 AM post in the National Guard trains to fight 'anti-government' Americans thread.:

The prez's purchase and use of the xxx666 tinfoil commando hat.

Oliver, I'm not speaking for Mike for he can speak for himself but perhaps the judge will get annihilated in a surprise nuclear attack of America by a nation with nuclear weapons such as Russia, North Korea, Pakistan, or a nation about to have them such as Iran:

And I [God] will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
(Joel 2:30)

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
(2 Peter 1:19-21)

Mike, remember what happened when the pride of a single ruler made an affront to the Lord:

1 Chronicles 21:2,7-8,13-14 KJV
[2] And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer-sheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it . [7] And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel. [8] And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. [13] And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the Lord ; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man. [14] So the Lord sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.

This was the penalty when met with prayer and sorrow, and surrender to the Lord. Will that happen with this judge, who certainly isn't even a Christian?

Ah, Fred, and to remind everyone, The Inadequacy of Moralism.

Nebraska doesn't recognize queer marriages, no matter where they are performed, though institutions such as the University of Nebraska system and Lincoln Public schools give them defacto recognition through their benefits programs

Mike, the answer to your question is sitting in my comment involving DryCounties in this thread:

"DryCounties wrote:

But a protest must be kept in careful context.
If you noticed the judge made the statement "in a way that demeans them", this statement is purely subjective in nature.
Now in judging subjectively he is judging apart from the law. He as a human judge is required to judge based on what has already been handed down from God and what the state and fed has written into law. As he has done is he has determined this based on him looking to himself to determine right or wrong verses looking externally to see how his judgement fits within the confines of what has been determined as law.
He is acting as a god and usurping the one true SOVERIEGN LORD and his own superiors as men.
He needs to be confronted for his arrogance

penned, being in the world but not of it doesn't mean not participating in particular areas of it, such as politics. There are no areas of reality in which we are not to take part, for God is above the laws of men, and if we are his people, then it is our responsibility to be involved in all of life somehow. So I would concur on that basis with #1. Authority rests with Scripture, not with state, nor church.

As for #2, comfort with "God is in control" so therefore we need not be concerned seems more to lie with the extreme sovereignty group than with the futurists, imo.

Have you ever read "The Christian Manifesto" by Francis Schaeffer? One paragraph from chapter 4 headed "The Humanist Religion":

"Most fundamentally, our culture, society, government, and law, are in the condition they are in, not because of a conspiracy, but because the church has forsaken its duty to be the salt of the culture."

The issue is not sodomite marriage, the issue is MARRIAGE. Only God defines what marriage is and only he gives permission. Anyone else who gives a license is a blasphemous false god.

We can tell we need to do this because we have numerous examples in the New Testament where Christians went to the government in charge to protest government policy. Don't begin to say it couldn't be done, because we see the Jews doing it many times in protest of the Christians. They even did it in the crucifixion of our Lord. Wait, maybe there is a verse that blames Christians for the actions of the government, everyone knows it is the Christians fault that judges ignore the law.

Mike, interesting question, to an interesting proposition. when corruption comes I guess there's two ways of dealing with it 1-- be in the world but not of it, publically show leadership and deal with it, and glorify Christ in the public square 2-- look up futurist verses on God blowing things up and say, hey my Father's got it under control, and I have nothing to do. I would say the church has been comfortably in number 2 for a number of decades now. what do you think Mike?
