Tenn 'Atheist Church' Grows to 2 Services in 3 Months
A "godless congregation" in Nashville, Tenn., has expanded to two services to accommodate growth in just three months. To celebrate the progress, services this weekend will be led by the co-founder of the London-based Sunday Assembly, Sanderson Jones, and an agnostic documentary filmmaker, Morgan Spurlock.

's been three months, and they are now already going to two services a day… because the last one was… full, overcrowded," Jones tells The Tennessean.

The congregation, known as an "atheist church," also provides child care. Volunteers from the Nashville branch feed homeless population, according to their Facebook Page. ...

To "reverend" J: in answer to your question..Justification by faith alone in Christ alone is throughout Scripture:
ex: Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
If you would sincerely like to read more about justification, I would highly recommend www.gty.org and search justification by faith alone.

You're welcome. Here at my church we enjoy hearing all points of view. We even occasionally bring in speakers from various religious denominations to lecture and answer questions from our small atheist congregation. This is in addition to the scientists, philosophers, and thinkers who have in the past addressed our humble assembly.

Right John, but what the Rock said makes sense and is what I see around here with everyone I know, see posting on Facebook, etc. Most couldn't care less what even the church has to say whether the topic be sodomy, fornication, drunkenness, backbiting,...whatever, their faith begins and ends with baptism, confession, and attending mass. The rest doesn't matter because they have been taught that they are going to Purgatory anyway so it's just a matter of performing indulgences in between sins to get out sooner. The mindset is do what you want and believe pretty much what you want because all one has to do is go to confession and do penance. The only fear is how long one may have to remain in Purgatory, but the fear is only a whisky thought because they know that they all get to Heaven eventually...no matter what.

Jessica D and Frank - reminds me of Aaron and the Isrealites waiting for Moses. "[Aaron] took the gold from their hands, fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it into an image of a calf. Then they said, “Israel, this is your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt! ” When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it; then he made an announcement: “There will be a festival to the Lord tomorrow.” Early the next morning they arose, offered burnt offerings, and presented fellowship offerings. The people sat down to eat and drink, then got up to play. (Exodus 32:4-6)
They build their "golden calf", then declare its use as a festival to the Lord. There is no fear of the Lord in these people! I would only add that they are indeed praising "something". God keep us indeed!
Thank you Anne, I appreciate your thoughts!

That stance is able to be 'modified' in the future of course.

Catholic people have shown how easily they accept radical overnight change in the way they brainlessly accepted the explanations given for there being two Popes today. Almost polar opposites.

This is a perfect illustration of the nature of the Catholic Church's split personality.

Today we say this, tomorrow we say that.

Catholic people will stay no matter what is said or done and they will continue to defend their stance, which ever it is they take for the moment.

Eventually of course no one takes any notice of anything they say, save for amusement.
