Study: Facebook is Read More Than the Bible

Facebook is read more than the bible, according to a study.

In 2006, a CBS News poll found that about 40 million in the U.S. and Canada read the bible every day. Comparably, Facebook reports about 143 million people in the U.S. and Canada actively using the site.

Total, Facebook reports 757 million daily active users. Facebook celebrated its 10th anniversary Tuesday. Today, ministers, Christian leaders and others are using the social media site to reach their audiences.

“For all the wonderful ministry happening on Facebook, though—including teaching videos and apps—it is no substitute for reading the Bible,” Jennifer LeClaire wrote in an article for Charisma News. “After all, Jesus said, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’ (Matt. 4:4). Somehow, even if Facebook were a part of mainstream Galilean culture, I don’t think Jesus would give up ...

Well said strat. That is the reason why when true Christians live in obedience to Scripture, they are labled legalistic by professing Christians, which happen to make up the majority of "Christianity" in America.

Thank you strat I've found two of your recent posts edifying and the reason is that you have conformed to GOD's word in you decorum, while still making your point effectively. Did you forgive me?

Granted, to most people, thinking, actually using their brains, is a pretty radical concept. There's some pretty good TV shows, yeah there's junk on it, I really hardly ever watch it.
And while I do have a problem with porn, I have a bigger problem with Darwinism.

TC, the penultimate book on mind control is Orwell's 1984. Have you read it? See any parallels with the U.S.?

TeeVee. Do you watch it? Didn't you say you had a problem with porn? That's mind control! Are there not porn shops all over the country? Regular (Trash) TV is porn nowadays.

Brainwashed Americans actually think Muslims across the ocean are coming here and cut our heads off--countries w/ no mililtary, separated from us on two sides by huge oceans, idyllic paradisical countries (before the US flew over there and destroyed them).

Why are people so frightened, willing to give up all their constitutional rights, to be taxed into oblivion, get put on lists and groped and searched?

To hand their babies over to white coats to be injected full of mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde, also cells from aborted babies and other nasty stuff in a witches brew?

Why are we being sprayed down every day (look up and see the pretty air show) and nobody seems to notice or care?

Water and (fake) food full of toxic stupifying chemicals.

Yes, mind control on every side. Stay away from TV a couple months, deprogram yourself

Quite so. The PC conspiracy theorists think Skull and Bonesman murdering gangster GWB was a "Christian," and saved us all from 19 Muslims with boxcutters on 9/11 by trashing the Constitution and instituting grope-downs at the airports.

The Jewish media's synchronized 9/11 'live report' showed an aluminum plane melting into the side of the WTC2 and leaving a perfect plane-shaped cutout Roadrunner style, then showed us on TeeVee that a block later its nose emerged in perfect shape through thousands of tons of steel and concrete and was able to drop a passport for Muslim Atta. Wow. Proof, you know? Time to go attack Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Syria, and we'd have taken Iran out too if Putin hadn't stepped in to block our Navy.

The U.S. has blown up the Mideast, but duped Americans now complain many Muslims fled to the USA looking for sewers and drinking water that work and shelter not a target of U.S. drones.

Mind-controlled Americans, hooked on Jewish TV trash, are now skeered Muslims will chop their heads off and impose sharia law.

Since "conspiracy theorist" is mentioned in this thread perhaps those who use the term to marginalize things and people they don't like or want to hear and most likely can't emotionally deal with could clarify their position.

I suppose you folks could be called situational and/or circumstantial evolutionist who subscribe to the big bang theory of events, things happen for no reason at all, nobody planned them or had anything to do with them, they were formed and executed from nothing and no one began continued or finished them....something from nothing for the sake of nothing just to fill time and space.

The criticism of biological evolution says that order cannot come from chaos and like wise you can't have so much as a yard sale without some form of conspiracy or cooperation yet many believe just the opposite.

The fact is that many conspiracy theories are turning out to be conspiracy facts, the conspiring of multinational corporations, the conspiring of nations and Armies to gain power, the conspiring of political parties and figures, the conspiring of cultural movements and shifts....all from nothing ? all for nothing and all from no one ? for no one please.
