Pope pressured to act on abuse after UN rebuke
Pope Francis came under new pressure Wednesday to punish bishops who covered up for pedophile priests when a U.N. human rights panel accused the Vatican of systematically protecting its reputation instead of looking out for the safety of children.

In a scathing report that thrilled victims and stunned the Vatican, the United Nations committee said the Holy See maintained a "code of silence" that enabled priests to sexually abuse tens of thousands of children worldwide over decades with impunity.

Among other things, the panel called on the Vatican to immediately remove all priests known or suspected to be child molesters, open its archives on abusers and the bishops who covered up for them, and turn the abuse cases over to law enforcement authorities for investigation and prosecution. ...

License to sin, CAB?

Nay lass, you are again misrepresenting the Flower Children, and so I exhort you again to repent of your lies and deception. You will never convince anyone of what you regard as truth by telling porkies about the alternative point. Rather people will be wary of you, because if folks want truth, they do not look to liars to tell them.

If you don't believe me, can you explain why many Flower Children have written books and teatises on holiness of life? Have a look at any online bookshop and you will find plenty to read on the subject of holy life, ongoing repentance, the need of God's grace to enable the obeying of him, and so on. The Apostle Paul's doctrine - as I have told you before - caused many to accuse him also of preaching "license to sin", to which he replied, "God forbid". And that, coming from a predestinarian. He explained that God sets men free from sin, its consequences, and its power.

Hi CAB...pretty close. According to Roman doctrine, the priest, endowed with special powers from on high, powers greater than those of Mary, can, through rituals and counting, pull Christ from Heaven up to 200, 000x/day, according to St Liguari, and order Him into the wafer, the host, and the chalice. By the priests power, the wine and the bread then transubstantiate as they enter the body, literally turning into Christs flesh and blood as they enter the stomach. Literal, not symbolic. This is why the host is guarded and worshipped all over the world...Christ Himself was ordered out from Heaven and into it. Yes, the Roman Catholic Mass is a literal and continual resacrifice of Christ because, according to them, His work on the cross wasn't sufficient to forgive all future sin. Quite something, huh?
It's not just literal summoning of Christ's actual body and blood into the wafers, but Catholic doctrine has Jesus STILL ALIVE ON THE CROSS. This is similar to Calvinist bloodless (limited) atonement wrath-of-God poured out on Jesus for all itemized sins of God's Chosen, an even worse doctrine than the Catholic one--a license-to-sin atonement that mocks Jesus and requires no one-on-one relationship with Jesus.

Catholic Church: "Don't do as we do, Do as we say!" remember the Magisterium is morally degenerate, Abuse by Priests . So, who cares about the lies of the Romish Church? Oh, also read the article that SA has put up.

His Unholiness sold his Harley for big bucks by the way, Holy high hog! Pope's Harley sells for $327,000 He should have given the money to sex abuse victims -- but he didn't.

I believe the Catholic doctrine is that Jesus is still on the cross writhing in pain and bleeding, a perpetual sacrifice to be turned into his actual body and blood as the priest makes the proper gestures and words to summon his bleeding broken body into the host. Am I wrong? This corresponds to the Calvinist bloodless atonement that Jesus was physically punished by wrath of God poured out on the cross and later in Hell by the Father to "prepay" the sins of the chosen elect.

Terrible, terrible heresies. Totally NOT BIBLE. Both designed to grant forgiveness and atonement without repentance or any love or submission to God. Conscience killing, soul destroying heresies, and so blasphemous and mocking to Jesus, our Lord and Savior (and also Creator).

Chris as usual, you brought up some very good points. A priest can be defroked, but it certainly doesn't happen often enough. I was going to point out the article on the Australian new serviceScathing UN report demands Vatican 'immediately' act against child sexual abuse, but the one that sermon audio picked out, is quite good.

While the Romish church, may have made some valid complaints about interference with their religious beliefs,

And those are only the few who came forward, didn't die of old age, etc. This has been going on for a very, very long time, I have no doubt. What bothers me is that it takes public outcry, the UN in this case, for any action to be taken. When one becomes a priest, he supposedly receives special powers, powers greater then those of Mary because he is able to call Christ from Heaven during the mass, and those powers can never be reverted or recinded because the power is a permanent one, from God Himself. This is one of the reasons priests are always shuffled around. The other, I believe, is because the club runs deep and many names could be named.
