Catholic and Pentecostal clergy, church members worship together
About 500 people packed the sanctuary of Evangel Temple Wednesday night for an ecumenical, or inter-denominational,worship service.

Priests from local Catholic churches and pastors from local Pentecostal churches prayed and sang hymns together under one roof. Traditions from both denominations were represented in the worship, responsive scripture reading and the homily message.

“It was a very historical evening,” Charles Arsenault, pastor of Evangel Temple, said. “We’re concentrating on our likenesses rather than our differences.”

Local meetings of the Roman Catholic-Pentecostal Dialogue have taken place since the 1970s, but Wednesday night’s service was the first time the group met publicly. It’s part of an international dialogue with the goal of unity. ...

My thoughts are not easy for me to put into a few words.

Basically: Today the AOG tomorrow, although IMHO there will be descenters, a remnent that will not go along

Then not all that far behind Presbyterians (yes, Reformed/Calvinistic however you want to describe it) after all don't Catholics and Presbyterians, and a heap of others too "venerate" Augustine, C.S. Lewis, and even sometimes Rick Warren, and again there will be descenters who will be maligned as intolerant, unloving, biggoted whatever.

So, and it is a big "so" for the "remnent" this is a time to humble ourselves and pray and seek the face of God that He might show there is a difference in Truth and a lie (in this case ecumenism), that He is Holy and requires genuine Biblical Holiness, separation from sin, the world, from false teachings and teachers for those He calls to belong to and faithfully serve Christ.

The Indian Hills Community Church Statement of Faith is similar to the Statement of Faith of First Church of God of Tulare, California where my Nephew and Niece In-Law attend. First Church of God of Tulare, California Statement of Faith states that salvation comes only through embracing Jesus as ones Savior and trusting in Him alone for salvation. My Born Again Non Denominational brother accepts that I am Born Again and saved because I trust in Jesus alone for salvation. Since church attendance is totally superfluous to ones gaining entrance into Heaven upon ones demise then stating that one has to repent of attending the Catholic Church in order to gain entrance into Heaven is totally unscriptural. If one trusts in Jesus alone for salvation then they are saved regardless if they attend the Catholic Church.

Look up the website for First Church of God of Tulare, California where my Nephew and Niece In-Law attend and look up the Statement of Faith and it states they teach the biblical doctrine of salvation that salvation comes only through trusting in Jesus alone for salvation. So First Church of God of Tulare, California is a Bible believing church.

My Nephew and Niece In-Law from Tulare, California who are Pentecostal who attend First Church of God of Tulare, California would not appreciate you stating they are involved in idolatry when they worship Jesus as God. My Nephew and Niece In-Law from Tulare, California are better Christians then you and some of the other Evangelical Protestants on here.

That is totally false that Catholics worship a false jesus. The Creed states "We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God"(The biblical and historical Jesus). And it is false that Pentecostals worship a false jesus. Pentecostals worship the biblical and historical Jesus. I ought to know because I have a Nephew and Niece In-Law from Tulare, California who are Pentecostal and they attend First Church of God of Tulare, California and they worship the biblical and historical Jesus. They are better Christians then you and some of the other Protestants on here.
