No not all the time which is what happens when OBJECTIVITY governs your world view. You CANNOT take a reformed world view and be subjective in any way nor can you look internally, you must look to an external source for truth which is why there can be some overlap.
Which brings me to the next point; apostates and false teachers will take a biblical view to some degree which allows them some cover when they try to sneak in. but the Spirit of God will sniff them out and expose them which is why Christ said "to deceive the elect, if that were possible" meaning it's not
Per I Corinthians 6:9-11, I would state that sodomites can be washed, sanctified, and justified. Thankfully, their sin is not unpardonable or unforgiveable, but it is conditioned upon repentance, of course, as is all sin.
I'll go with what the Bible says, and I'll take the Scriptures over the Pope anyday!
"If they accept the Lord and have good will, who am I to judge them? They shouldn't be marginalized," the Pope said."
Pope's emphasis is upon the salvation by works theory as usual.
Can the homosexual be "cured"??
Can the sinner be "cured"??
Even when he is drawn by God to Christ the sinner remains a sinner.
If by "cured" the Cardinal means sinless then it is the usual miscomprehension of the Roman Catholic organisation.
The solution is and always was being drawn drawn to Christ BY GOD!!! Then the sinner whatever his sins are, is changed by regeneration and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. John 6:44 "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."
"It's one thing to be compassionate towards a homosexual person and another thing to morally justify the practice of that homosexuality.", said the Cardinal.
"The Cardinals statement will cause much pain amongst believers", said Colega
"Homosexuality is not curable, but homophobia is", said the group.
I'm glad the Cardinal is taking a hard line and speaking out, unlike all the others have done by sugar coating the lifestyle. The only thing I disagree with is his comparing it to hypertension; making it sound like it's not a choice, but rather, something that's gone wrong within the body so it's not their fault. To me, this feeds the false hope that God made them that way as opposed to a deviant lifestyle they simply chose. Even if, for some reason, a person is always drawn to the opposite sex, like any other sin, they must resist the temptation.
No. I completely agree although, I think homosexuality should be referred to using the terminology in God's Word that being, a sin. The issue arises when it comes to providing that cure. Will he be preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ?
