National church shutdown underway

Earlier this week, international leaders praised Iran for closing down some of its nuclear program. The U.S. and EU are both reportedly easing some economic sanctions on Iran as a result, one of the conditions of an agreement made last year.

According to Michael Wood of Open Doors USA, a nationwide church shutdown is also underway.

“It’s basically illegal to even go to a church,” Wood explains.

Hi Lurker and Anne. Anne, thanks for bringing that verse to mind. I hadn't thought of it. I understand. I would still rather that some simply be ignored as opposed to anyone leaving, so maybe I don't fully understand, but I'll think about it more.
To me, along with everything else I said already, its like this: I think the solid, mature Christians are the ones who hold correct theology together here; like glue, and if they stop fighting, heresies that creep in begin to go unchallenged, and those who don't know any better yet will be slowly sucked in...because everyone who knew any better, left.
Maybe I'm wrong in the way I'm thinking about it all though.

Christopher, I understand what you're saying and am pretty sure most of the sturdy, studied posters who have such sage advise and have taken a break are still watching. However, over the last few weeks, this verse seems to be ringing in a lot of people's ears: "I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone. But avoid foolish debates, genealogies, quarrels, and disputes about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. Reject a divisive person after a first and second warning, knowing that such a person is perverted and sins, being self-condemned." (Titus 3:8-11). Because of the words and hearts of those we consider invaluable for their godly views and advice, I don't believe they would err in their decision to remove themselves from the daily comments for a while. I can trust that, at least with a few, their decisions were neither knee jerk responses nor cop-outs; simply, they might have needed a breather! Of course I am not speaking for them but it is certainly how I feel and can understand as they were at the forefront of some of these obnoxious people's attacks. It's wearing and maybe some people are feeling a little thin at this point. I trust

Lurker and UPS, I am starting to get frustrated each day when I read about this member or that member taking a break and leaving because of basically one person. Everyone is much stronger than that and there are, I have no doubt, many who remain forever silent, but listen intently to all of you saints daily. People who don't post but read, learn, and grow as a result. No, they may never say thanks, or even acknowledge their presense, but they are there. My simple question is this: As everyone does when Street Preacher, etc, rants and raves, etc, why not very simply ignore anyone who you feel causes the same confusion? Rather than feeding into long, unproductive debates, a simple one time sentence like, "silent readers, the members of this forum do not agree with this persons theologies, opinions, or conclusions as they have no place in scripture so we choose not to engage them in fruitless, unproductive, time wasting debates.", or similar.
Thanks for your comment and concern, Chris.

We agree that what has been going on here for the past few weeks is not conducive to the fellowship of the many who have come to love their brothers and sisters of this community.

This wouldn't be allowed to continue in a church.

Its Biblical five point Calvinists who teach the whole counsel of God, so obviously as a Christian site SA would prefer the real Christian believers around her.

The CAB Arminian, free will, old Roman Catholic salvation by self heresy is not what SA would want to see here.

Arminian UnBiblical doctrines
= God is NOT sovereign.
= Faith is the ability of sinners to save themselves.
= Christ's atonement is His apology to sinners and to open the door to everybody and beg their cooperation in salvation.
= Atonement, the blood of Christ does not achieve salvation - But merely opens negotiation with sinners.
= Sinners CAN discern the things of the Spirit and therefore may accept or reject Christ as they see fit.
= Sin is nothing to worry about and can be overcome easily by sinners.
= Man's will is completely free to decide and choose Christ if he wants to.
= Election is based upon God seeking the permission of man to become saved. Thus man is put in charge of his own destiny.
= The Holy Spirit cannot regenerate sinners without their permission.
= Salvation is fragile, feeble and easily lost anyway.

Unless they can do it on an IP by IP basis, they can't ban anyone since it's a wide open forum. I hope every single person sticks around and finds a different way to deal with those that cause these types of disruptions either through silence, or whatever...

1) Paul's reference to Adam and Eve simply demonstrates that women are weaker vessels, more easily carried about with every wind of doctrine as is clearly the case with CAB.

2) That's not your call. SermonAudio has no rule prohibiting women from posting and I, for one, will vigorously defend the right of women to post even if it means occasionally having to put up with nonsense from posters like CAB. Better to quiet deceived women with the truth rather than distorting the truth (2 Tim 11-14) to shut them up.

Thanks Pastor Tim for your thoughtful response. I would say we both agree that I&II Timothy and Titus are pastoral epistles and deal with the role of pastors and parishioners in the realm of the church. To go with your interpretation, as I see it, would mean that women are not allowed to speak in any discussion of spiritual teaching.(maybe that is what you are saying, not trying to put words in your mouth) The apostles seems to be basing his admonition that women learn in silence (in the church) because the woman was deceived back in the garden. Just like when he says we should pay our preachers because you don't muzzle the mouth of the ox that treads out of the grain (Deuteronomy 25:4/I Timothy 5:18) he is not saying that we are under the levitical law but giving a precedent that leads to the Biblical principle he is expounding.

CAB has an inflated view of herself as the savior of this forum to turn us to the "truth" of Dan Corner's teaching. You are right she would do well to be silent and learn, but I don't think (IMHO)the verses apply to a forum like this one.

CAB, you are bringing in big names, powerful people, that have the wealth of millions of people combined, who own the markets......can you conceive it possible that they use their own? that they use the word "anti-Semite" to hide behind their own people? when you throw out the word "Jew" are implicating all of them, because the word has been manipulated to be a "race" (even though though they are multiracial and often not semitical) -- I would advise a different strategy and let each person speak for themselves, because I find your approach as troubling as those on here that find all muslems guilty and therefore they just laugh when globalists come in with their destructuring of society. I'm not sure if you can be reasoned with --- if you stop listening to others, even when we find real information, it has to be delivered with the love of Christ.

I find your view of Islam limited too. it can be quite antichrist in nature as well... have you known or lived in nations and heard the sounds of the prayer calls, the women in the streets stoned to death for being "permiscuous" by being attacked, etc?

and this I say along with many find moslems who are there helping the Christians in Syria while our politicians call the jihadists freedom fighters.....

To Pastor Tim I would say this is NOT the church, so the Scriptures you quote don't apply.

To CAB, I have NEVER said I was a Calvinist and don't really care what you think of Calvinism. You are are genuinely deceived if you think your positions are Biblical. MANY have proven them inaccurate from the Scriptures. Your hermeneutics are flawed. Your disdain for those who love God and calling my Lord a liar has been the source of my opposition to you since you started posting here again. You distort what people say and misrepresent the side you oppose. There are many here who oppose Calvinism who carry on a sane and respectful dialogue.

Another post quoted you,

".. John's imaginary friends are going on vacation with him. .. You mean you won't be back to talk back and forth about absolutely nothing, dear sister, dear whoever, so nice to speak to you, glad you are here, lovely day to meet with you on the forum. ...

John really knows how to put on an extremely lame and boring non-reality show. I wonder how many other of the posters here are UK John's imaginary friends?"

Yes, that is rude and condescending.

Alas, I put no hope that you will see the error of your ways. Only God can show you that, and it is my prayer that He will do so for His glory.

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

You would do well to heed the Scriptures and learn in silence little girl!

your belief that doing NOTHING is a virtue, as you bragged in our exchange earlier that God expects NOTHING from you.
So I said God expects nothing from me? Here's what I said....

I asked: 1/8/14 9:05 PM "As a professed Arminian, what must you do to keep your salvation?"

You replied with a list of 15.

I replied with an answer to my own question: 1/8/14 10:08 PM "As you know, I'm not Arminian so I will answer the same question thusly: Nothing.

However, by the Spirit God has given me I am enabled to keep His covenant commandments..... 1 John 3:23-24

And in return I am an adopted heir of the covenant promise..... 1 John 2:25

And since I am heir to eternal life I know that I was known by and belonged to the Father before I was given to the Son..... John 17:2

And since I was given to the Son by the Father, I'm fully persuaded that He is able to fulfill His Father's will.....

John 6:39
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day."

Intentional misrepresentation of what others say or believe is a lie. According to your own belief system, you're going to hell because you're an unrepentant, unashamed habitual liar.

Maybe SermonAudio would like to get more balance here, less 5 point hyper Calvinists, and a few more Bible Christians. Some fresh ideas, more new people coming on the forum, instead of the same people going around the same barn year after year. These are exciting times we are living in, and it's not good to get stuck in a rut.

I'm not being rude to anyone, not calling any names, I'm totally conservative and Biblical in whatever I say here.

There is nothing preventing you from posting with your friends here on any topic you want to. You are always coming at me for what I say. How can my opinions be so offensive to you? It's just Bible Christianity.

Calvin burned Servetus for daring to disagree with him, and seems like the rest of you hyper-Calvinists are not much more tolerant.

Not all the sermons here are Calvinist.

To the fine people who run the SermonAudio site, the wise words of Luker would be well to be heeded.

The Bible reminds us that one of thing that the Lord hates is one that sows discord among the brethren. This has been the pattern of CAB's remarks since her entrance back into this forum. Many have stated how they are refraining from posting, leaving the forum, or don't enjoy coming here anymore. Since she started her diatribes on nearly every article, I have to admit it has crossed my mind to leave until her presence is no longer here. Her disdain of the godly brothers and sisters here and the fellowship they enjoy is rampantly evident.

The lack of my presence would be no great loss(in fact SteveR would probably celebrate) but the many others have made this an enjoyable place of fellowship and admonition would be missed dearly.

It is your forum, but it looks to me like you will be losing more and more of the people who have enjoyed coming here because of one who teaches things contrary to the Scriptures you uphold here.

You are quoting Jewish sources. Iraq's oil is owned by the Rothschilds, BP (which is Rothschild). China is getting all the oil, or most of it, and Israel is getting all the money for it. We the dumb Americans are paying for this with our lives and our souls and our tax money.

Some things you can jump on Wikipedia, but other things not. Wikipedia is Jewish owned, and WND is Joe Farrah, the biggest Neocon warmongering piece of work out there.

You have to try different phrases in Google, you might not find the whole story that easily, and might have to put pieces together. I see there are stories admitting China is getting all the oil.

Most of these oil companies are Rothschild. BP is Rothschild.

you honestly think there's all this movement in ME and its not going to be related to resourcs??? the American public has the most interest in these things and don't know the basics.
So the plans have been around for years? It doesnt mean Israel gets all the oil for free to finance some antichrist antisemitic nightmare of CABs. It means that oil shipments to Europe and N America from Iraq can be executed at a lower shipment cost. I imagine everyone including the Iraqis are excited about that
