The 41st march, scheduled for Wednesday (Jan. 22), has traditionally had a strong Catholic presence, with priests and nuns marching on or around the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. Its founder, Nellie Gray, who died in 2012, was Roman Catholic, as well as is her successor, Jeanne Monahan.

“The march has a very Catholic feel to it with lots of rosaries, Virgin Marys and crucifixes,” said Jon Shields, a government professor at Claremont McKenna College. “It hasn’t been particularly savvy about reaching broader audiences.” ...

The new Texas law for example, looks like a good one. I have nothing against people as individuals trying to do something about abortion in this country.
I would like to point out to others, however, as members of Christian churches and as individual Christians, are we trying to find legal cures to moral problems? Christians will show the effects of the Manifestations of Being Transformed. However, there is a futility of trying to reform society, through the social gospel either liberal or conservative, through the actions of the state. There is The Inadequacy of Moralism, which is recognized in the Bible. Moralism comes with Christianity and not the other way around.

Well Jim, perhaps we should legalize Pedophilia, murder, theft, etc, since we can't legislate morality. I thought scripture says we are to reprove the works of darkness. But, since you voted for Obama, you clearly don't.

so with the case of Birthright International, it is probably a good option and perhaps they better one for non-Christian women who would react negatively to a heavy-handed approach.

Now wikipedia does have what I think is a slanted article against Pregancy Crisis Centers --but-- some of the practices of some of these centers, these parricular centers should have a picture of Lenin hanging in them with the saying "The End Justifies the Means" lying is not Christian any more than abortion is!

By the way speaking of Catholics, Proposed Abortion Restrictions in Spain Face Backlash.

"Birthright cares
...for every woman who comes to us. We are non-judgmental, and are not involved in any religious or political activities. Birthright is here to help mothers make a plan for their future and the future of their unborn baby."

"Birthright has a philosophy of avoiding direct involvement in pro-life ... political advocacy."

Probably, evangelicals are too busy supporting organizations such as,Birthright International or a good local crisis pregnancy center. I understand they have those in Great Britain as well. You're going to do anything legally to stop abortion, but the above type organizations to provide something of an alternative. By the way, quite right John UK, Christian and Catholics -- never together!

500 years of reading the world's most complex book and daily comming to the conclusion that their predecessors interpreted it incorrectly. 183,000 days later and this is The Only Protest that matters to them. Their interpretation vs. their predecessors. A protest over interpretation of an extremely complex book is the sine qua non of their existence.

They don't much have the additional resources to also protest at the tomb of 50,000,000 aborted babies.
