Obama administration takes sour view of home schooling
Ronald Reagan electrified the world when he demanded that the Berlin Wall be torn down. Barack Obama is helping to build a new one, even as the German government begins rounding up members of a despised religious minority.
The Romeike family was granted asylum in the United States because the German government was intent on wresting away the children and putting the parents in cages for the crime of home schooling their children, which is verboten in Germany, a legacy of the country‚Äôs totalitarian past. The Obama administration, which in other notable areas of immigration law has enacted a policy of ‚Äúdiscretion‚ÄĚ regarding deportations, took the Romeike family to court to have its asylum protections revoked, and succeeded in doing so. Thanks for the posting the useful link in this "sour view" news item, Jim. It's good to be reminded how anti-freedom and anti-child the Obama administration has been and still is..

My original link for this seemed not to work for quite awhile, but either this link got reactivated or I forgot I updated it. NET: Home School Nebraska Now, at least when this one was made I remember it to be quite friendly towards homeschooling, I doubt if Nebraska Educational Television has changed any of it, but anyway, it is worth looking at. The teacher's union for the public schools have been advertising quite heavily lately and perhaps it reappeared to make a more balanced atmosphere?
The article that SA put up was quite good and well worth reading. Hmm, some home-schooling parents need to have studies revamped if they were wildly enthusiastic about Bush, however, and with time it was proved, Bush: Terrible President, Also Not a Smart Man.

Independent minded people with educated children aren't likely to support Democrats nor leftist losers of any party. Nor can they be as easily manipulated into compliance with "national standards" (i.e. dumbing down) as defined and required by the state. Common Core comes to mind as just one part of this movement to teach what to think, not how to think. People such as the Romeike family are intrinsically threatening to the losers, for they reveal the flawed state education model for what it is.
GsTexas, Well said! The hypocrisy and blatantly subversive goals of this administration in its passion to replace hard-won American liberty with Big Brother socialist tyranny-- is utterly breathtaking.
