Obama to vist Pope
President Barack Obama plans to soon meet with Pope Francis for the first time.

Secretary of State John Kerry said the President was “looking forward” to visiting the popular new leader of the Roman Catholic Church at the Vatican.

Kerry did not say when the trip would take place.

President Obama has a gift for Pope Francis. President Obama didn't really need to give this gift, Popes have already gone to seed. The Papacy.

Matthew 13
25 "But while men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares also among the wheat, and went away.
26 "But when the wheat sprang up and bore grain, then the tares became evident also.
27 "And the slaves of the landowner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?'
28 "And he said to them, 'An enemy has done this!' And the slaves said^ to him, 'Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?'
29 "But he said^, 'No; lest while you are gathering up the tares, you may root up the wheat with them.
30 'Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn."'"---NASB

Should Roman Catholicism really be classified as a Christian religion? -- No.

Hi Amill, you also believe that at the first coming of Christ he inaugurated His Kingdom? amen! sacrifices and temple worship were done with, completed in Christ, and all things will eventually be placed under his feet, every knee will bow, for now we bow to Him, so He reigns, Christ-King-Priest-Messiah. He preserves the martyred saints. amen.

"My departure from premillennialism and embrace of amillennialism was gradual and came as a result of two discoveries as I studied Scripture. First, I devoted myself to a thorough examination of what the New Testament said would occur at the time of Christ's second coming (or parousia). What I found was a consistent witness concerning what would either end or begin as a result of our Lord's return to the earth. Sin in the lives of God's people, corruption of the natural creation, and the experience of physical death would terminate upon the appearance of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, and the inauguration of the New Heavens and New Earth would ensue. But why is this a problem for premillennialism? Good question." This doesn't make any sense. Amillenialism means no millenium or that we are in the millenium now, which is craziness. The resurrection is not past, and that doctrine is condemned in scripture as "destroying the faith of many."

Heresies, heresies, heresies.

True Frank. Jim is a fair and balanced fox when it comes to balance. I figured he would come to the defense of the Dems anyway, so I left out the Rino Repubs who are only Dem wannabees in disguise.

Amen Frank! It isn't part of its title, The Unscriptural Theologies Of Amillennialism And Postmillennialism, but anti-millennialism is a strong part of Romish theology, which is pointed out in the article. Liberal and conservative Catholic politicians buy into anti-millennialism.

I agree Mike, but they can vote for or do any abominable thing and then simply get their absolution from their friendly local priest who will simply increase their penance if he feels it necessary. Now if they were born again from above, then sin would repulse them at all times; not just in a confessional.

But I want to be fair and balanced like Jim from Lincoln, so I have to add this. Republicans are also republicans first and foremost. NO REAL DIFFERENCE, but your comment is still right on.

One topic for discussion

"The Nuns and the President{edited for space}
By Andrew P. Napolitano
January 16, 2014

The Little Sisters of the Poor are an order of Roman Catholic nuns who have taken vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. They operate nursing homes for those who cannot afford them and employ more than 50 persons. The sisters have objected to the requirement that they must pay for health insurance coverage that provides for birth control, as those payments directly violate Catholic teachings and beliefs.

Our post-Obamacare world is dangerous for people informed by conscience and presupposing respect for natural rights. Where are the Catholic Democrats in Congress who voted for this monstrosity? Why are they silent or tacitly with the president? Where are all good people of conscience in this great clash between the nuns faithful to God and the president to politics?"

Could be, but one doesn't have to visit Rome for that. It is enough to embrace her anti-Biblical way of thinking, which to me is a more plausible fulfillment. Not long ago The Economist quoted the Italian PM (of that time) as saying, in effect, "I'm not a Catholic, but I think like one." BINGO! Same goes for "Christian" Democratic parties all over Europe.

So the "Protestant" theologians who find inspiration in Thomas Aquinas, like R.C. Sproul, Norman Geisler, & the late John Gerstner, might as well have visited Rome & kowtowed to the pope, for Aquinas is THE most important philosopher of that strumpet; his ideas permeate Rome's doctrine.

Perhaps the pope will explain to the president which parts of the mass to avoid based on their unscriptural nature. (Stepping in for Yurich as he seems to be on vacation today)

Rev 17
Doesn't answer my question (if that's the intent), for meeting someone is not the same as agreeing or acting in concert [fornicating] with them. It's possible to act jointly w/o ever having met, & to meet in violent disagreement (e.g., a couple in Divorce Court).

So why do you people make a big deal out of this? It's probably nothing more than PR, since the pope & Obama have very similar political philosophies (Progressivism = Catholic Social Teaching). I think Prez visits to Rome are really intended to pander to American Catholics, a group both parties are afraid of alienating.

For shame, criticizing a sitting President!
BTW, where does Scripture say it's wrong for people to meet antichrists?

Hey sister! You know I seem to remember that now that you mention it. That statement is even worse than the one I noted. He may have seen "his" god in his eyes, but he didn't see ours.
