The New Age of Christian Martyrdom
The concept of Christian martyrdom may seem like something from a bygone, uncivilized era when believers were mercilessly thrown to the lions. Not so. This week, Open Doors, a non-denominational group supporting persecuted Christians worldwide, reported that Christian martyrdom has grown into a pervasive and horrifying human rights crisis.

In their annual report of the worst 50 countries for Christian persecution, Open Doors found that Christian martyr deaths around the globe doubled in 2013. Their report documented 2,123 killings, compared with 1,201 in 2012. In Syria alone, there were 1,213 such deaths last year. In addition to losing their lives, Christians around the world continue to suffer discrimination, imprisonment, harassment, sexual assaults, and expulsion from countries merely for practicing their faith. ...

Just as thankful where Baby-face Bush was President,

Titus 3:1 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,
3:2 to malign no one, to be uncontentious, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.---NASB

Which means I really don't discuss GOP demagogues outside of this forum, anyway. But of course, since they make a claim to be Christian, I don't minding naming names, they aren't my rulers. As you might have noticed I haven't mentioned any Nebraska politicians?

Oh, the organization I left out in my first message, though hopefully still implied by the reader, was "Open Doors" and the article I put up while covering some of the same ground is different from the SA one.

In light of this article, Jim, aren't you thankful that your political "Pope" (Obama) is supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood wherever they may be found?

Dorcas, your comment brought a smile to my face. Thanks for the prayers. Our family prays for you (and our other brothers/sisters on SA) as well. Will definitely share the news of the babys arrival.

Anne, lots of wisdom in your post. Thanks for sharing and for the prayers as well. I agree our husbands are deserving of praise. If it weren't for mine I'd be hiding in the closet too....but.then my children would think it's a game of hide and seek ha

Nesting! Oh how I would love the energy! Usually, by now, I have that 3rd trimester kick- not this time! Hopefully soon! Four and under! . I will be praying for you indeed; it really is the hardest number I think; however, they grow so quickly and before you'll realize it, they will be helping with everything you do! It is such a blessing to see even our 18 month old pulling clothes out of the dryer; they will learn so many skills that they can then turn around to help and bless others with. Our fifth means a range from 7 to newborn, the last three only 18 mo apart or less. I know you're like me and wouldn't trade it, even the hard days, for the world! We also have to be sure to praise our husbands, as without their guidance, support and love, well, personally I would hide out in the bedroom closet with a bag of m&m's and a bottle of Coca-cola! Lol! Get some rest and know I pray often for you that all will go well!

"Nesting" has kicked in (read the whole house has been rearranged). I'm definitely thanking God for the extra energy. Praying it continues after baby is born-well have four, four and under

Martyrdom is the story of Christianity. Jesus taught, "If they hate me, they will hate you also. The world will love its own, but you are not of this world."

The Bible says we are entering into a time when the whole world will have to worship Satan and the Antichrist, or get their head chopped off. So what do we do?

Jesus said plainly, if we deny him, he WILL deny us before the Father. There is a REASON why Christians in the Bible and in Foxe's Book of Martyrs endured torture and burning and "loved not their lives so much as to shrink from death" as it says in Revelation --

Don't you find it strange the churches are not preparing people? Have Christianity's rules all changed since TBN, John MacArthur and Calvin came along? Jesus came 2000 years ago, and Calvinism, the harlot's daughter more wicked than her mother, was born just a few centuries ago.

If we listen to the posters here we will not worry about losing our soul, and we will shrivel under persecution like the second example in the parable of the sower, if we have not already done so.

The Bible says, The fear of man brings a snare.
