Atmospheric carbon is mostly to do with the soil

As an alternative to more established theories of global warming relating to levels of atmospheric carbon, a new research area considers that carbon levels in the atmosphere are most affected by the composition of the soil.

Soil contains more carbon than air and plants combined. This would suggest that even a minor change in soil carbon could have major implications for the Earth's atmosphere and climate.

New research suggests that it is fungi that have a major influence on the carbon levels in soil and eventually the carbon levels in the atmosphere. By examining patterns of symbiotic fungi, researchers have shown that higher levels of fungi can lead to 70 percent more carbon in the soil. The role of these fungi is currently not typically considered in global climate models. ...

Strat, you've made some good points that I agree with, but did you shed the burden of your sin only to sin more? you still fix your car or do you leave that to rust as well because the world is ending? the world may go on for awhile now, and we should thank the Lord for that because it means another soul will be harvested for Christ. so what if things are hard? Christ will come again. well, that's my way of looking at things anyway. but thanks for the discussion.
Fixing my car is my job,i am in fact a mechanic....it is not my job to live other people's lives in hopes of fixing them.

God convicted me of my sin and need for a savior, people told me I was a sinner but God convinced and convicted me of my sin and hoplessness and every person has to come to that place of surrender and only God can bring them there, why do people insist on saying that they are "bringing" someone to Christ when the bible says that it is the spirit of God that draws people to him and that a Christian is but a proclaimer of the message and/or invitation ?

I never said that I thought it was ok but I don't flatter myself by thinking what I think is or is not ok matters to anybody but me.

Prior to salvation I carried the weight of my own sins,i did not exchange the weight of my sins for the weight of the world on my shoulders,it was here long before me and will be here long after me.I do not say to myself upon waking each morning, the planet's broke,i gotta fix it.

The weight of the world is on God's shoulders and it is to his glory to both bear it and bring it into submission to himself as he first intended,God said he will share his glory with no one and it will not be because of the concerns and/or opinions of me,you or any other mere mortal that any world wide changes will be made....the bible tells us it will get worse and worse and there is no mention of concerned citizens of the Earth playing any part in fixing it.

Strat, you think its ok to poison the air, water, and destroy the temple of the HOly SPirit? then you must be more spiritual than I.... in my world evil is played out in the physical world. ever heard of thou shall not murder? that includes making food that slowly takes the life out of people, hidden in foods that no one is allowed to know about, with secret deals to be kept from liability. what of the abomination of making a seed that cannot reproduce itself? making a generation sterile none of your business?

modern man is gone mad. self destructive philosophies replaced by weak minded pantheism that both lead the same direction.

no, I don't believe the Christian should stick their head in the sand, the global warming movement along with vegetarian has always been propaganda to further political goals -- agenda 21 deals with land ownership -- you will see lands being transferred to UN control, for instance, the world tax on carbon was literally a day from being embalmed in treaty at Copenhagen a few yrs back? email leaks came out showing things being made up, got caught red handed and 3rd wrld countries realized they would be whopped with taxes to global bank too. that's how close we were to it, course we aren't supposed to know anymore to be super spiritual.

Couldn't agree more, people one heartbeat from Hell worrying about Polar bears and melting ice caps, tossing and turning in their beds at night over Rain Forest and Spotted Owls while the clock tick tocks their life away and closer to the day of judgement.
Then you have Christians doing he same thing, the bible tells us how it will end and it involves a great deal of environmental destruction,it says nothing about a bunch of pantheist coming to the rescue and saving the day,the planet or anything else.
I can imagine God chuckling a bit when a sin laden Hell bound creature of his comes before him and expresses his or her concern for the.....planet.
I see your point (red herring concerns re global warming when the sun is inactive and the earth is cooling)..but the Bible tells us Jesus will come to judge those who "Destroy the earth" per Rev. 11:18. The vast depopulation of the earth will be deliberate from Satan's Zionist human NWO minions.

Fukushima was a man-made disaster like Katrina, only worse. The Pacific Ocean is dying. Monsanto is poisoning us all. Chemtrails aren't ice crystals; the world-wide criss-crossing planes aren't spewing vitamins.

We all need to get right with God NOW. Judgment begins at the house of God.

Yes it is, Penbly. Al Gore knows exactly what he's talking about. Haven't you ever seen the poor polar bear floating away on a chuck of glacier as her cubs look sadly on? Everyone should send as much as they can in support so he can continue gassing his jet to go tell people to stop using jets.

Agreed, for different reasons. Global warming shouldn't be blamed on homosapiens, except for the ones who made it up out of bad science and worse politics.

Then there are the oceans and storms....

"Carbon is readily exchanged between the atmosphere and ocean. Each year, approximately 90 gigatons of carbon are exchanged between the atmosphere and the ocean in each direction, leading to a quick equilibration of surface ocean and atmospheric carbon levels.[4] In regions of oceanic upwelling, carbon is released to the atmosphere. Conversely, regions of downwelling transfer carbon (CO2) from the atmosphere to the ocean. Interactions with the atmosphere also influence the rate of carbon uptake from other systems. Extreme storms such as hurricanes and typhoons bury extremely large amounts of carbon, because they wash away so much sediment." (Wiki)
