Pastor: Obama is paving the way for the Antichrist

Already no stranger to controversy, the Rev. Robert Jeffress, a Dallas megachurch pastor, is coming out with a book that claims President Barack Obama is clearing the way for the Antichrist.

Jeffress, head of the 11,000-member First Baptist Church of Dallas, writes in his book “Perfect Ending” that he does not believe Obama is the Antichrist, yet he links Obama’s support of gay marriage to the coming of the Antichrist. Many Christians believe Jesus’ Second Coming will feature a confrontation with an enemy called the Antichrist, based on interpretation of passages 1 John and 2 John. ...

Good to see DJC49 posting!

I think you brethren are wasting your time with CAB. Like TLC and a couple of others she doesn't hear and doesn't want to hear, so you are wearing out your keyboard

I wonder who her favourite preacher is?

Don't know if anyone has seen the US evangelist arrested in Dundee Scotland, but accused of undermining the work that is already going on by a local preacher in Dundee?

Pastor in Dundee, Scotland to Tony Miano

I know that I haven't.

Perhaps neither one of us is saved; or perhaps we have both LOST our salvation!

CAB, do you do all the things you believe is necessary to remain saved? Better not lose it, Hebrews 6 makes it clear you wont get it back (If it were possible to lose it in the first place, which it isn't).

I think Paul spoke of those like yourself in Galatians.

Galatians 3:3 "Are you so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh?"

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace."

Do you personally know of anyone who suffered like the Apostle Paul did. If not, then you don't know any saved folks. Or if you want to plug in Fox's book of Martyr's, the same question applies.

I am also perplexed at the whole american christianity comment as well, very open ended statement. Does she go to a church? Is it in america? How did she find SA? Does she read the bios of the featured speakers and pass over the americans? James White? Nope. Albert Martin? Ah ah. Steven Lawson? No american. Wow there are some wonderful servants on this site, faithful men who work hard in the Lord.
Cab are you considering how sweet or repugnant your presentation sounds?
Btw I am going to watch Todd Friel open air on a college campus right now; in america!
Yes, some of her comments make no sense. Now had she said "be willing to suffer those things" then I would have agreed. I also think that Christianity in the Western world is often simply a cultural viewpoint and not a true relationship with the Messiah. I remember one time many years ago when I was working; I told my secretary that I was a Christian. She looked at me with a strange look on her face and said "you were born in American, right, so what else can you be".
Grace alone, through Christ alone is true salvation. But, if that doesn't produce a change in us, a true repentance and the "desire" to follow Him, then we are likely still in our sin.

I just thought it was strange she made a list in her second paragraph and said this is what christianity is about instead of saying the list is what happens to some
christians.

Christianity is about suffering, persecution, being hated and excluded, killed, burned, crucified, impoverished. The Bible Christians weren't easy believers telling fellow Christians to sit back, relax, that God expects NOTHING from us, and to serve or live for God or heed the instructions in righteousness in scripture means we're not really saved and some kind of devil. Annanias and Sophira got struck down dead and went to Hell -- just because they didn't admit to how much they gave to the church. But people today lie every other word and don't care, no fear of God.
Most of your post were strawmen arguments that no one has presented to you. But, here is a question; how much suffering, persecution, being hated and excluded, killed, burned, crucified, impoverished do we have to undergo to be what you call a Christian. How holy do we have to be before we are saved. Your posts are so silly that you won't be able to respond to this, at least intellegently. You forgot flagellation

Couple of items

Not sure how TULIP got lumped in here

American christianity, hhmmm RC Sproul, Edwards, Paton, Judson, Elliot, MacArthur; those that are the bride of Christ that live in america seem fine to me "true bride of Christ is a christian"

Christianity is about Chist' atoning work on the cross and His redeemed glorified church.

Just thought some things should be defined correctly
