Gonorrhea, Syphilis Regain Traction in U.S., CDC Reports

Gonorrhea and syphilis are on the rise in the U.S., mostly in men who have sex with men, a trend the government said is linked to inadequate testing among people stymied by homophobia and limited access to health care.

The rate of new gonorrhea cases rose 4 percent in 2012 from the year before, while syphilis jumped 11 percent, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said today in a report. Rates for chlamydia, the most common of the bacterial sexually transmitted diseases, gained less than 1 percent.

While all three diseases are curable with antibiotics, many people don’t get tested as recommended, said Gail Bolan, the director of the CDC’s STD prevention devision. That’s especially the case for syphilis, where the rise is entirely attributable to men, particularly those who are gay or bisexual. ...

It should be obvious that the cure for diseases caused by behavior is prevention, and to deny rewarding behavior, not promote it. You apparently have no problem with the contradiction between providing government O-care for behavior-caused sickness(smoking, homosexuality, etc) and government promotion of the behavior? How sad are the willfully blind.
That's what the bible teaches, what you sow you reap, and God did not deem it necessary to follow it up with a pity party, sentmental meanderings or any such nonsense did he....but you have people today who think they know more about love and compassion than God could ever know...these folks will tell you that Jesus would give an addict clean needles or give somebody rent money because they spent the rent money on booze or drugs

The fact is God put consequences in place to guide us away from bad behavior, but these fine folks know better and what a wonderful and Godly society they have created.

here's in remembrance to the unknowing participants of the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment.... although some like to politicize many of these diseases, they are often cogenital as well and well within society. here's to those who have found help and imagined that God's creation was greater and not limited to radiation and antibiotics.

JIm, there is no better "healthcare" for this under the current eugenics model, antibiotic resistance has come. they are at the end of their model, and might have to break up the monopoly, or just continue on in willful ignorance.
