State 'imposing' its 'gay' beliefs on cake artist

Colorado’s constitution doesn’t recognize “same-sex marriage,” but the government is being accused of imposing its beliefs about matrimony on residents.

“The government … seek[s] to impose a new belief system upon Jack [Phillips], one that is fundamentally at odds with his conscience and his liberty,” explains a legal filing from attorneys with the Alliance Defending Freedom representing Phillips and his Masterpiece Cakes in Lakewood, Colo.

A complaint to the state’s Civil Rights Division was filed by two homosexuals who wanted Phillips to provide them with a wedding cake, even though same-sex marriage is not allowed in the state. The government only recognizes civil unions.

Phillips offered to provide other products but, citing his own Christian beliefs, declined to produce a message on a wedding cake that conflicted with his faith. ...

Why should anybody feel repulsed by a Mormon wedding when a Mormon couple would not be homosexual but would be heterosexual? True that Mormonism is a Cult but that is totally supefluous when it comes to weddings being only for heterosexual couples.

Homosexuality as a sin seems to be disproportionately a bigger sin then any other sin.

Me thinks this more a remnant of an old social tabboo rather then a sin issue.

Every atheist communist muslim hindu burned their 'queers'

I wonder if you and the bakerman would feel just as repulsed by a mormon wedding?

This same recommendation is always made when similar headlines are discussed. The issue I would have with any baker simply baking a terrible tasting cake, or whatever, so the homosexual couple never returns, is:
1) They are opening themselves up to a civil lawsuit anyway, and 2) Their business will be crippled as word gets around about the terrible tasting cake they made, and for a wedding no less. Rumor or not, no bride or wedding planner will take the chance after hearing anything negative about any bakery.
Why would the fruit cake couple file a civil lawsuit against the baker when they were not denied service?

It is against the health code to have human feces anywhere near a kitchen. It would be ok if the baker made a "wedding cake" for a "fruit cake wedding" that had salt instead of sugar in it to make it tast awful. That way the fruit cakes could not state that they were denied service by the baker. And a Christian photographer could keep the lens on the camera during a "fruit cake wedding" so all the pictures are black. The fruit cakes could not state that they were denied service by the photographer.

If fruit cake marriage is not allowed in Colorado then why is that bakery owner under fire from Colorado's government?

Just finished reading David Horowitz's booklet entitled, Barack Obama's Rules for Revolution: the Alinksy Model." It sounds like of people in our government right now-- perhaps this judge, as well-- are following the Alinksy model for bringing about social change. They using the power of public office to 'destroy' existing social structures, values and norms, in order to impose new ones. Their whole goal is the destroy the status quo in order to bring about in a revolutionary manner the type of classless, morally libertine, socialist utopia they want to see, by whatever means it takes (in their view, the end justifies the means-- and that means using the law as a tool to undermine and destroy the rule of law.) That is exactly what I see happening with a ruling like this one-- a judge using the power of his judicial office like a wrecking ball, to destroy social order and bring about social and moral chaos. Little wonder that Alinsky dedicated his main book to Lucifer, the model 'rebel.'

That judge should be investigated for a civil rights violation or breaking juridiction in some degree.

Judges are judges in that they judge based on predetermined critetia. A soveriegn determines the criteria and must look only to himself to determine if his judgement is satisfactory; he cannot look at anything externally. This judge has made that clear declaration.

I manage a service department, I have to be able to refuse service by unrestricted judgenent or the business will no longer be soluable. End of discussion. Customer's cannot be in charge of this because they represent their best interest. I get paid to do both which is a restrainer to my just representing our interest. Good luck out there!
