Teacher Tells Student: 'Jesus is not allowed in school'

A Southern California school district is under fire for preventing a first grader from handing out to his classmates candy canes with religious messages, a lawyer for the student said.

After conferring with the principal at Merced Elementary School in West Covina on Dec. 13, a teacher told the student, 6-year-old Isaiah Martinez, “Jesus is not allowed in school."

“I was shocked,” he said. “I was like, ‘Wow, they really just said no.’”

He said the teacher then threw the messages in the trash before handing the candy back to him to pass out to his classmates. ...

Mass participation is clear denial of the gospel. If some Catholics are saved then some JW's and Mormons are saved too. (Troll comments on this statement is strictly forbidden)

Like you John, I dont think Catholic Christian is an oxymoron at all. I think the RCC is full of born again Christians that just dont understand how they were saved. John Y., Do you think you could do as much as his child such as putting copies of Is A Catholic Christian An Oxymoron? (Yes!) And/Or Is the One True Church Roman Catholic? in the pews of your Catholic Church?
A Catholic Christian is not an oxymoron because if a Catholic trusts in Jesus alone for salvation then they are a Catholic and a Christian. I would never put gospel tracts in the pews at my Catholic Church because it is not permitted to put anything in the pews. I would place the gospel tracts in the entrance area of the church.

I was just pointing out, again, would anybody be as happy on this forum if this child had put out messages supporting Islam or Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses? I wouldn't think so!

Why do atheist teachers keep doing this nonsense when they know that it is in violation of the Supreme Court ruling that stated that it is not unconstitutional to mention God the Father or Jesus in public schools?

Personally, I don't know how I would function at a public school as such. I attend a small private in the south, so it's not a deal down here. Still, my every essay, how I read textbooks and assigns books, how I think about all my classes is from a Christian perspective. (To be clear, I don't mean a perfected perspective, but that that the bible and it's message are my default way of handling and processing information, doesn't mean I always process exactly correctly though, but I try). Point is, if they asked me any question, especially in English classes, I can't answer without thinking that way.

Unfortunately then, if you can bring the Christian religion into the school and such an obvious manner, then a person can just as well bring in, Muhammad, Buddha, or Joseph Smith.

So I congratulate the youngster for serendipitously bringing in the Christian message, but you're going to get reactions that Christians aren't going to like.
