Official ObamaCare Launch: More Insurance Cancellations Than Enrollments

All of the warnings regarding the harsh reality of ObamaCare were proven true on January 1, when it became clear that promises to offer healthcare for the masses were highly inflated. On the debut of ObamaCare, more health insurance plans were cancelled than there were new enrollments.

The Daily Caller reports, “More than 4.7 million Americans had their health insurance canceled as a result of any of the thousand-plus-page law’s new rules ... but the Department of Health and Human Services confirmed Tuesday that between federal and state exchanges, just two million Americans have signed up for ObamaCare coverage.”

The Obama administration has announced a net loss of at least three million insurance plans. On Sunday morning, the White House stated that just 1.1 million people have used the federal ObamaCare website to sign up for the president’s healthcare network. ...

Yes, UPS, I think AARP is a reliable source of information because what they say can be checked, again, why call it Obamacare when it is really Romneycare, which is GOPcare? Conservative Origins of Obamacare, and as I have pointed out to Mike of N.Y., it doesn't matter who wrote something, but is it true or not?
Five reasons Americans already love ObamaCare — plus one reason why they’re gonna love it even more, soon
. Anyway, something not from the AARP, Ignore the Republicans: Obamacare Is Doing Fine Sound advice, no matter where it came from.

The answer to Obamacare, the so-called "Healthcare crisis," is to drop out of the whole system, which is just a big murder-by-medicine RACKET. Modern medicine is killing and sickening and impoverishing everyone, so we need to pull back from it. The antibiotics are killing everybody, the vaccines are killing people and making kids autistic and adults demented. Everybody is sick, and it's not from lack of "health care." The only one who can make us healthy is ourselves, and anybody who thinks the idiot doctors can "fix us" from the poisoned, denatured food, the poisoned (fluoridated) water, the weedkiller in and on our food, the mind pollution of sports and television and American sick culture --

It's our temple to care for, our minds to put worthwhile, edifying, uplifting and truthful things, pure things like the Bible commands us to do. If we don't do that, then going to these white-coats, whose life spans are even shorter than ours--we will get a torturous death at their hands.

Based on … estimates of declines in Medicare Advantage enrollment thanks to the cuts in the health care law, the report estimates that AARP will receive between $55 million and $166 million in new revenue in 2014 alone—-meaning the ten-year financial windfall received by AARP due to ObamaCare could total over $1 billion.

http://www.habledash.com/the-nook/1135-aarp-to-rake-in-1-billion-from-obamacare

Billion dollar windfall but you think they are still a reliable source about the unaffordable ACA???? You must think Madoff is great investor too.

Methinks you had better steer clear of these who line their own pockets at the expense of our seasoned citizens.

Also, we have before proved (from an an article from the Dr.'s in favor of gov. healthcare that you also sited)that the foundational ideas for Obamacare go back to both Roosevelt's, Wilson, Kennedy and Johnson ALL who held office before Nixon.

Even that ISN'T critical, because NOBODY's idea or law is in place but the ACA and NO republican voted for that, it was all dems. Really, if it is such a GREAT program you should be proud

This should be a good thing. Then maybe people will flee witchcraft "medicine" that maims and kills and seek other ways to become well.

This Obamasnare nonsense is what happens when men and women want man to be their king rather than God. Folks shouldn't be whining at all.

You can believe Jim's article written by Americans who are trying to get Canadian system in U.S.

OR

You can use the what the Canadian government says about it's own system and wait times. Multiple Canadian sources back this up.(google Canadians have long wait times)

http://www.gov.nl.ca/HaveYouHeard/wta.pdf

AARP makes loads of money from ACA so they are not a reliable source, you can guarantee they twist the details

No, GsTexas, it apparently takes the AARP, to help answer your questions, AARP Health Law Answers, Since you won't read the comments by Richard Reich. just to let you know, at least when Mr. Reich was in the Clinton administration, I wasn't particularly a fan of his. Even some of his comments given in the first URL, are a little too left for my taste. But, if you don't like GOPcare, we could go to the Canadian or British system,

It's berter than what we had.

I guess that people are too stupid to know what's good and what's not, and they need the government to enlighten them, right? That's really what's being said. The people who lost their insurance chose, and were satisfied with what they had. So when Obama tells those who lost their insurance, they didn't want anyone having bad insurance (even though he said they could keep it if they liked it), he's basically saying they aren't smart enough to know what's good or not, but the government does

When you start with the wrong assumption you reach the wrong conclusion. Reich and Obama are the ones who are defining substandard policies. You know, policies that didn't pay for Sandra Fluke's birth control pills so she and her pals can sleep around. Policies that if they were so great, why do we have many UNIONS, CONGRESS and the PRESIDENT exempted from the plans. A lot of people WHO WERE VERY HAPPY with the insurance they had now face HIGHER premiums or no insurance, but at least now that single guy can get a mammogram. Then after charging you a premium that IS NOT affordable, they tell you that you are getting all the services for free. HELLLLOOOO, YOU are PAYING a premium, it is NOT FREE. Just like I predicted many are finding the coverage thought they had they don't. One doctor went ahead and risked not getting paid for a surgery because his assistant was on hold for 2 hours on the phone before they gave up trying to see if it was covered. Obamacare (nothing Republican about it) IS A DISASTER already and it is only going to get worse. Soon to come cost over runs and shortages. The president KNOWINGLY lied about keeping your insurance if you like it. People who used the Obamacare website (president couldn't) still have their info at high security risk.

Lurker, if you read the first URL I put up, where Mr. Reich used the 4-letter word for "manure" and if you add up all his blogs on that particular page rather lengthy, I didn't see any other offensive word, you can say no, they really didn't have coverage at least what Mr. Reich said at the top that page (which you can read if you can ignore that word ) they just thought they had coverage.
Jim,

I read Reich's article at your request. Though quite intellegent I'm not a fan of Reich because of his left leanings.

That said, his claim of the policies which were discontinued was that they didn't meet ACA standards. It remains a fact that 4 million + - policies were discontinued and only 2 million + - ACA compliant policies were enrolled in.

So, spin the facts if you must, but the bottom line is; as of Jan 1, 2014, 2 million people who had health insurance now have none. This is what happens when big brother says it's my way or the highway. Some choose the highway.

Obamacare is a success btw. It's purpose was to destroy the wretched american prosperity, lest you believed they really wanted to provide affordable healthcare. Did you?

The short Mr Reich was bullied when young. Now he approves of bullying others via government. His approval of Obamacare is merely a symptom of his unresolved bullying issues.

ObamaCare ... what a success!

Such a success that today we have far fewer insured than on the day BEFORE "ObamaCare" was signed into law!

[As vice-president Joe Biden on May 23, 2010 whispered into Obama's ear: "This is a big f***ing deal!"]

His words, not mine.

Jim, you again are quite clueless on this issue. Reich believes as you do, that substandard insurance means old guys like you wouldn't be covered for maternity care. But please continue with your Obysmalcare apologetics. We need the laughs.

Yup.

Of interest, my wife (64) was able to retain her policy but the company added maternity coverage and, of course, the premium for the same.

I wonder how they calculated thier monetary risk for that coverage.

Thieves.....
