More Hidden Costs of ObamaCare Coming to Light

The latest tally shows that ObamaCare enrollments are just over two million, falling far short of the estimated 3.3 million expected to sign up by January 1, and putting into serious doubt the goal of seven million by the end of March.

At first blush, the reason for the lackluster enrollment is the premium cost. Many people are learning to their dismay that they will be facing premium increases of 30 to 70 percent, or more. In some cases, much more. For instance, a 27-year-old man in Memphis will see his premiums jump from $41 a month last year to $119 a month this year, a 190-percent increase. A 27-year-old woman in Nashville will be hit with a 97-percent increase.

In California, some 600,000 of those whose coverages have been cancelled will learn quickly that they don’t qualify for subsidies, resulting in much higher premiums when they do find coverage. ...

Thanks JSC. I try to hear everybody's case, but as I demonstrated here, I don't always do that. And keep posting! Your comments are always encouraging!
Hey unprofitable servant, you think your singing is bad? You haven't heard me sing, I am the WORST singer in history (I hate that because I love music)
And to everybody who got upset that we're not talking about ObamaCare, that was my fault, I went around teaching Lectio Divina (which I've repented of) and I wouldn't listen to the very wise people here. My fault.

Brother Observer, I really enjoy that hymn and often "sing" (can't carry a tune in a 55 gallon drum,my car seats demanded earplugs) that hymn on my trips home from work as I fellowship with my Lord.

On the articles you posted from the other thread, I really enjoyed Spurgeon's sermon but have to admit the other guy was a tad tough to follow. Both brought out great reasons to believe the Scriptures instead of the seminary nonsense that the presbies put out.

DJC49| Florida, there were 3 comments made in the space of about an hour on 1/3/2014 (from 2:37 p.m. to 3:28 p.m.) that dealt with the content of the article. To be honest, if you are hoping for site where only what is mentioned in the news article is talked about, you are on the wrong site.(you would know this better than I) I don't mean that in anyway as a criticism of your wishes, just saying that has not been the nature of what goes on here.(see 5/31/09 10:24 AM
DJC49 | Florida post) I am encouraged by the many helpful things posted here by our brothers and sisters. You don't miss much if you skip my posts but there are many who are a blessing here and who's insights and admonitions are profitable for growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I had a chance to read some resonses.
Dc ya I agree but sometimes other things come up
Tc lil brother keep on keeping on. You are an encouragement. I am hideously prideful, I can't imagin how bad I was at your age and yet I see maturity in you
Christopher thank you. God has been disciplining my mouth and arrogance for some time now so I just worry about the things I say. If I have ever been helpful then thanx be to God.

Thank you for the response JSC, I read it and pondered it. I really appreciate the encouragment, to be honest, I clearly have A LOT of growing to do, but thankfully being conformed to Christ isn't instantaneous, it's a day by day process (a fact for which I'm most grateful), thanks again!
We all have a lot of growing to do. My problem is the older I get, the more I see the need for growth. Now for my real question. Are you male or female? Christopher seemed to think you are a young lady, but I think you are a young fellow.

This does make a difference to many of us because I and some others I'm sure, approach each post differently depending on the sex of an individual.

Anyway, if you can clear that up, that would be great.

And, I agree with your comments on MacArthur and I have been told the ESV was the best translation, but my NASB is so marked up, I will never give it up.

I just wanted to say, as an outside observer, that I thought it was great how the latter half of this thread went, and JSC, I always like your responses. Some complain about what they read on a Christian site. Some say they can't believe the drama, the arguing, the infighting, etc. I view this thread as an example of how things would normally go when disrupters don't chime in with combative nonscense. We can argue and disagree but without the ever present negative elements, I don't think anyone would ever have any reason to be put off.
Well, I, for one, am "put off" by the fact that not ONE single post on this thread is about the subject title: "More Hidden Costs of ObamaCare Coming to Light"

Shame on all you heresy hunters!
Seems that's all you know how to do.
It's quite boring.

I tried walking away for this thread and you stayed with me. I really want you to be encouraged and not get discouraged, I think I have td you this before. I remember when my eyes were opening and I was so excited I couldn't keep my mouth shut. We oft think a negative response is an indication of the value or voracity of what we said and I question whether that is true. Sometimes we need to say things that garner negative responses, lol most times. But it's just learning to temper zeal with prudence and that is a learning process. I found I would desire to say something but the way I layed it out I ended up saying a bunch of other things I didn't mean in the process. I finally started to understand that by taking God's word in my mouth; it wasn't mine it was His and I couldn't just do what I wanted with it. And He consecrated it as holy and then I started to have fear in using it. I feel there are some on here who don't have reverent fear for speaking the things of God. You seem pliable, be encouraged by that. I know for me I felt like I was trying to show I measured up by my knowledge so I just started to shut up and learn from the men in my church instead of talking. I have a long way to go. I may have learned a thing or two more but there are better husbands and dads than

Matthew 5:23-24 is why I'm pleading forgiveness. Everyone here tried to warn me and I wouldn't listen. I've been stubborn, self centered, a real nuisance in other words a real jerk. I ask once more if you guys would please forgive me, I really am sorry.

Well my older brother and fellow pilgrim, belated HB! it sure is good to know you! (BTW- I'm 57 now)

What I hate about these forums is that folk are so keen to contribute (in some cases always negatively) that they just don't read what someone has written with any care. To my mind that's just plain rude! And then to have them talk all sorts of twaddle based on a complete misreading is wearisome. And then when we try gently point to their error they just grow belligerent! Sad days we live in, that's for sure. How can an edifying conversation be held under such circumstances?

As for me leaving this forum, bro I am going to have to soon. I can only normally manage a month or two at most on these forums. I find them too draining. I like to come back every year though and if the Lord should spare us, we will catch up again for sure. If not, we're sure to meet in heaven!

God bless!

Feel drained after the last few days on here. Not sure why?
But seriously, most days are a struggle and I often wish the Lord would call me home. Don't get me wrong, I love my family and all, but life is tiresome and I long to be with the Lord! The days are getting darker and even Christian men and women and churches these days ain't what they used to be. Many I knew from years back are already with the Lord and frankly I'm a bit jealous of them.
I'm blessed with a lovely family and then on some forums I find good and gracious souls, like a few on here, who I feel encouraged by. But them that truly know the Lord are getting fewer by the day. Experimental Christianity is at an all time low and its real sad to see the decline.
As the Lord enables we must soldier on and pray that there may be better days ahead, or that in his mercy he'll remove us, eh?
God bless

Yes, unless the Lord leads me differently, then you will see more of my posts. But, to be honest, I'm not much of a Link poster, so I'll never depose Jim from Lincoln.
