NYC Mayor: Horse-Drawn Carriages in Central Park “Inhumane,” Abortions Okay

Bill de Blasio, New York’s incoming mayor, apparently loves animals more than people. He thinks horse-drawn carriages in Central Park are “inhumane.” But abortions in New York City, which is the abortion capital of America given its ridiculously high abortion rates? No problem.

Fox News reports on de Blasio’s concern about horse-drawn carriages: New York City Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has vowed to move quickly to outlaw the horse-drawn carriages that pull tourists around the city’s famous Central Park.

“We are going to get rid of the horse carriages. Period,” de Blasio, who takes office New Year’s Day, said at a news conference Monday. “They are not humane, they are not appropriate for the year 2014. It’s over. So, just watch us do it.”

Animal-rights activists say the carriage horses are overworked and claim that the city’s traffic and pollution create an unsafe environment. ...

What would be the point of a Republican being way left(even way left of you) in order to win the mayor's job? A way left Republican is a Democrat. Neither of them is worth the space they waste, whatever they call themselves.

I'm not saying everybody needs to eat what I eat. Just a comparison. And no Jim I didn't check with a dietician, I've ate like this for YEARS and I feel great!

UPS, thanks for the comments, I don't know how united the NYC council is, and what power it has, who knows, maybe they're even worse than the Mayor when it comes to Liberation Theology?

TC, in this country horse meat is not considered human food, so I don't know you're comment about being a veggie is overly appropriate. Just because you eat an animal doesn't mean you can't be good to it before it ends up in a packing plant. Oh, I hope you have checked out with a dietician about you diet?

""But abortions in New York City, which is the abortion capital of America given its ridiculously high abortion rates? No problem.""

Another bureaucrat with a sin dominated heart and head. Thats not new is it? But the comparison horses or babies single out this Liberal for highlight. The conscience is the place where right and wrong are housed in the human. But politicians and bureaucrats today seem to have a defective conscience to say the least. Sodomy is ok and murdering the unborn infant is ok adultery is ok and celebrity status provides them with their gods. If Satan wants to take over western nations and destroy the Bible witness then the leadership is the place to start. And Satan is obviously well into the task today in New York and all other western nation societies.

Now before I make my statement, please don't misquote 1,000 verses telling me to change my diet! Thank you.
Now I happen to be a vegan (meaning I eat no meat or dairy) so my question is why don't this guy pass a law that enforces a vegan diet on everybody? After all we are being pretty "inhumane" with the animals we eat. Now if you're not vegan this isn't going to mean much, but you gotta admit, what's the difference?

They must have a weak city council?
I believe this has not passed the city council as of yet, just the mayor pontificating about what he wants done.

Recall? He just got elected. It's who the people wanted for mayor. People like dictators, father figures who tell them what they want to hear, and let them stay children no matter how old they get.

Hello, old friend.

Both these (and most other politicians) have one thing in common; they seek immortality through their legacy and establishing their legacy is their sole purpose while in office.

Poor fools..... seeking the praise of men instead of God.

You know, I thought the same thing, Penny, it's all about control...the part where he says it's over just watch us do it.. says it all. He's not concerned about the horses well fare,he is enjoying his power to do it just because he can.
