Canadian court strikes down anti-prostitution laws

Canada’s highest court struck down the country’s anti-prostitution laws Friday, a victory for sex workers who stepped up their fight for safer working conditions following the serial killings of prostitutes by a pig farmer in British Columbia.

The 9-0 Supreme Court ruling found that the laws violated the guarantee to life, liberty and security of the person. But the ruling won’t take effect immediately because it gave Parliament a one-year reprieve to respond with new legislation.

I can't see the courts reasoning that these women can better protect themselves, by letting them run around on the streets without some laws? Yes, many European countries have red light districts, which are either legal or ignored. Unfortunately, are there going to be more rigorous laws to make sure that girls are forced into prostitution? England with its kowtowing to the Muhammadans are suffering from Shari'a courts, forced marriages, and "honor" killings.

You have to have a willingness of a large part of the people to push certain moral standards, and then there is still The Inadequacy of Moralism.

"Canada’s highest court struck down the country’s anti-prostitution laws Friday, a victory for sex workers"

I guess a Liberal country like Canada cannot really discriminate against prostitution whilst entertaining the moral defect of homosexuality.

Quote #2
"The 9-0 Supreme Court ruling found that the laws violated the guarantee to life, liberty and security of the person."

Judges must have real problems understanding moral standards for society. In their ruling they sentence girls to a life of promiscuity and depravity. You would think that a judge would work to improve society and be against promiscuity.

I wonder if they are heading to legalise rape and paedophilia too?

1 Corinthians 6
15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? May it never be!
16 Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a harlot is one body with her? For He says, "THE TWO WILL BECOME ONE FLESH."
17 But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
18 Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.---NASB

Harlot several definitions there of.
