US voices 'concern' at India gay sex ban
The United States has voiced concern about a ruling by India's Supreme Court which reinstated a colonial-era ban on gay sex which could see same-sex lovers imprisoned.

"We oppose any action that criminalizes consensual same-sex conduct between adults," State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters.

"The United States places great importance on the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms of all people. And ... that includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons around the world." ...

Poor Jen. She actually thinks what she says matters. Before she became a spokesperson for the State Dept, she was traveling press secretary, later deputy comm. director for Mr Obama, so it's not difficult to see why she says the things she does, being a good Democrat.

...with the exception of the fundamental human rights of home education in Germany of course... I guess "Christian parents" don't fall under the US's category of "all people"...

Why, Will, I'm glad to see there are other people who recognize The Inadequacy of Moralism The absolute nonsense that government spewed out about acting contrary to God (or Nature if your an atheist ) was absolute nonsense.

India needs to hear the Word of God to really How to Have Victory Over Sin

For your problem about "supporting" immoral laws, do assume you mean about obeying them? You might look at this as well, Rendering To Caesar: A Biblical Perspective On Government.

I'm always perplexed when it comes to American legislation.
As a Christian, I could never support the morally wrong laws passed. But, to be consistent, I know that the freedoms that allowed Christians to build Christian monuments and post 10 commandments or what not are equally extended towards those who aren't Christian. The framework has been the same since the beginning. What has changed are men's hearts. It's like the satanist monument news article the other day. I feel like if we are going to be consistent in allowing religious expression, then well, they should be allowed to put it up. Both or neither I suppose.
Of course, that's why the most effective change will never come through policy making, though we support good legislation, but the widespread changing of heart's by God's manifold grace. We cannot make them worship The Lord in out governmentsl policies, only point them to Him, and oppose what we know is wrong, even if only on religious grounds. (Which are grounds enough, no other reasons are required for something be wrong that when God says so, but there are often extra reasons such as higher HIV or depression rates and children who face problems in broken homes.)

Get real, perhaps you would show how America is morally superior than India. In case you haven't noticed, this country is just about at the bottom of the bucket in terms of morality. If you don't believe just read/watch the news, turn on the TV, or go to the movie theater (Hollywood glorifies everything that is an abomination in the eyes of God). Just imagine when my generation (millenials) are running the country one day. I love my country as much as the next guy, but I'm ashamed of what it has become. I sincerely hope and pray for the revival this country greatly needs.

get real, when younger people point out the hmsxl, anti cohn reign in this country, it is only them speaking the truth. that has absolutely nothing to do with America's reputation after the events you talk about that were 70 years ago. do you not understand that reacting to the atrocities of today is not about liberalism, but about a sorrow for what has been lost, actually recognizing, if I must use the word, what "liberalism" (communism) has done to the land?

Some people define freedom as sexual perversion, you can take away all other liberties but if they can proudly wave their sexual freak flag they are satisfied that they are free.

Kat, the self loathing that you express can only come from someone brainwashed by the liberal media ...

have you ever studied other countries customs and rituals?

it is no joke that God Himself has wiped a lot of them off the map and has not blessed them as he has done to this Christian Country ...

about other countries getting rid of their trash ... that was their plan all along ... infect America ... get rid of their trash ... point the finger at America ...

one obvious example is when Japan gets all upset about the USA dropping nukes on them, they whine incessantly about it calling us the evil ones but not one word about the rape of Nanking, Pearl Harbor, or siding with Hitler and believing themselves to be the master race ...
what has the great satan America done or exported to India? how to rape school girls on the city buss and disembowel them? how to have a prejudiced caste system? how to eat feces? India is an abomination that wont let homosexuality in there, that says something about homosexuality ...

I agree John Y. America has infected so much of the world already with its filthiness, it surely will be held accountable on judgement day. I shudder to think of it. I used to be " proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free". But those freedoms have turned this country into the most godless country on earth.
