Top doctor: 'Gay' blood will taint U.S. supply

Should homosexual men – a group with the highest HIV-infection rates in the nation – be allowed to donate blood?

That’s the question the federal government is considering this week as it re-evaluates whether it should lift the 30-year ban on homosexual blood donation.

On Thursday, members of the Department of Health and Human Services Advisory Committee on Blood and Tissue Safety and Availability will revisit the issue.

NOOOO they should NOT be able to donate blood,,,you can have symptoms of HIV/aids for years and thets how you get HIV,,,thru blood,,,body fluids,,,how can they even consider it,,,thats evil,,,id rather die than get blood from a person who is homosexual,,,a needle user,,,or someone who has in the past,,,you'd have to be a vicious and evil person to even want to donate blood knowing thats how you are and knowing thats how you can pass HIV on to another person,,,I couldn't live with myself if I knew I was homosexual and donated blood,,,the government is considering this??? REALLY,,,REALLY,,,prayers to all who get this kind of blood,,,

It comes from the determination of Homosexuals to be thought of as normal,it is not enough to be left alone, they must be accepted,invited,included....they and their allies will accept nothing else.

...or quite simply, make a mistake. Every other month, something previously touted as wonder food, a wonder drug, etc, is no longer considered a fountain of youth, but rather, a deadly carcinogen, or something else that does bodily/mental harm, etc.

Thanks US.

For the record, I don't feel I'm discriminating a bit when I speak out against allowing homosexual blood to flow through the veins of others. The fact of the matter, and my simple position is that I don't trust science or scientists who may promote faulty evidence because they have a liberal agenda, or are themselves sodomites.

Seems simple enough: look at the evidence, determine whether or not donations by gay men could be made safely and effectively, and enact policy based on facts.
Unless someone disputes observable, reproducible facts, there's no logical reason to oppose addressing this possible source of a better blood supply, and possibly stop unnecessary discrimination.
from the CDC (http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/risk/gender/msm/)

"Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) are more severely affected by HIV than any other group in the United States"

So, I am at a loss how you could say it is based on hysteria and moral panics, you don't think the CDC has observable, reproducible facts???

You think we should risk infecting innocent people with AIDS just to make a politically correct statement?

Actions have consequences. If you choose to participate in a risky behavior then you have to suffer the consequences of your choice, one of which is you cannot donate blood. There are other groups that cannot donate blood, like if you are pregnant.

The way I see it is that their blood has been in the supply line already for a very long time. Whether it's a result of a person's sexuality never being checked before, people lying if it was, heterosexual men who have been with men, and vice versa, women who have been with homosexual or bi men, and so on. I think the angry homosexuals will give blood anyway, out of spite, lying on the questionaires if anything were ever written into law. Afterall, it would work on the honor system anyway, wouldn't it?

that kind of lifestyle automatically leads to disease -- it goes against the natural order.

Leviticus 18 states that homosexuality defiles the person as well as the land we live in.

This warning teaches how unnatural practices that are an abomination will have an affect on nations and people.

Therefore there is no surprise that death by abnormal activities and taint by abominable unnatural practices should come upon man when he commits such blatant and flagrant sin.

Leviticus 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

This has been discussed for a while now and it's beyond me why in the world this would even be on the table for consideration. Political correctness? Equality for all? Ridiculous.
