Churches ditch a traditional Christmas
CONGREGATIONS will be singing karaoke-style carols this Christmas as many churches ditch traditional hymn books.

Instead they are installing giant screens in the nave using an iTunes app to guide the congregation through the words.

Trendy vicars claim that the new-tech approach makes people sing louder.

The Rev David Green, a vicar in West Malling, Kent, said: “Screens get people’s heads up, they are singing up and out and not looking down. The volume is noticeably much louder.

Not all of Gods people say Amen. My Born Again Non Denominational brother and my Nephew and Niece In-Law from Tulare, California who are Pentecostal don't say Amen to you stating that the facts I gave are blather.

What is your problem anyway? And all normal Born Again individuals celebrate the Birth of Jesus because they also know that if the wise men celebrated the Birth of Jesus that it is not unscriptural to celebrate the Birth of Jesus.

Rather unrelated, but what if we decided to go the Spanish rout as in
Christ + mas = more Christ!
Not Spanish, but just a random somewhat funny thought personally.

The wise men still celebrated the Birth of Jesus. And all the Protestant Reformers celebrated the Birth of Jesus. There is nothing unscriptural about celebrating the Birth of Jesus on 25 December even if Jesus was not born on 25 December.

I don't get angry as I have total control after taking Empowerment classes in school over the past year.

What kind of a sick and mentally deranged jerk does not celebrate the Birth of Jesus when the Bible states that the wise men celebrated the Birth of Jesus? All of the Protestant Reformers celebrated the Birth of Jesus because they were not mentally deranged and psychotic.

A rhetorical question, I know, but the Feast of the Nativity seems to have been instituted by Early Church Fathers, such as Chrysostom, around the 4th century. Charles Dickens & Prince Albert also helped things along; after publication, "A Christmas Carol" was a bestseller in both the UK & USA.

The only force more powerful than the pull of winter holiday customs is a Black Hole. Every other tradition can go to blazes, but don't touch Christ-mass or you are a Scrooge.

Besides, when else can retailers turn a profit? Remember Paul & the Ephesian silversmiths. And it's a great time to fill the pews, so don't wait for pastors to halt proceedings, either.

Before the hymnbook, a precentor. Before the OHP, a hymnbook (or Psalter). Before the Direct-Injection hymn chip, the OHP.

Progress, I suppose.
