White House Slams Food Stamp Reforms in Thanksgiving Message
On Wednesday, President Barack Obama's White House politicized Thanksgiving to promote the reauthorization of the SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) or "food stamps" as part of the farm bill at a time when a record number of Americans are receiving assistance.
In an email, the White House urged Americans sitting down for Thanksgiving Dinner to remember: "For decades, Congress has authorized SNAP in a bipartisan fashion through the Farm Bill. They don't have to do it in a way that hurts children, seniors, veterans, and vulnerable families. Learn more, and pass it on."
The White House linked to a report about how SNAP is boosting the economy and accused Republicans of undermining the program's reauthorization....
Jimbo, when are you going to learn, we conservatives don't care what liberal left sites like the Daily Beast think of us or value their advise. When you start, like they do, with an inaccurate premise you reach an inaccurate conclusion. It is not our fault you are jealous of the effectiveness of the tea party and wish they would go away. That is all we have ever heard from the left how the tea party is a transient fringe group that is going the way of all flesh. What they don't explain is why they are still having to write about them, and really if they are so insignificant that they don't matter, why do you bother to give them publicity? Taxed Enough Already, sounds good to me, it is YOUR guys who are taxing the middle class and the poor (mainly through ACA taxes--remember they kicked back when the law was passed nearly 4 years ago, also they have passed (mainly through executive fiat) many other ways to lower incomes and create dependency. It is your guys that want to nearly double the gas tax (that will make prices rise across the board, also hurting the poor and middle class) It is your guys that want to raise the minimum wage putting the working poor out of work and increasing prices. (unions LOVE minimum wage to go up, helps eliminate competition)

1) the farmers aren't happy about more government nuisance, Jim. Sorry to disappoint.
From your link to the news blog: "BRUNSWICK, Maine ‚ÄĒ Rose and Randy Bolton wandered through the Brunswick Farmers Market Tuesday morning, armed with food stamps to buy carrots.
‚ÄúThey‚Äôre fresher, taste better, and you know they‚Äôre homegrown,‚ÄĚ said Rose Bolton, eyeing a sea of fruits and vegetables on the town mall. ‚ÄúSome of this stuff might have been picked this morning ‚Ķ you know you‚Äôre getting the freshest you possibly can.‚ÄĚ
Sure thing, homegrown carrots "picked this morning" in Maine in mid May.
