Outrageous!… Common Core Book Teaches Children White Voters Rejected Obama Because of Race

Fourth graders in Dupo Illinois are reading a biography of Barack Obama by author Jane Sutcliffe. The book teaches children that white voters rejected Obama because of race.

The Illinois Review reported:

The book – brought to the attention this week of those on the “Moms Against Duncan – MAD” Facebook page, goes on to say white Americans were hesitant to vote for a black president, and that Obama pushed the race issue to bring the nation together.

“But some people said Americans weren’t ready for that much change. Sure Barack was a nice fellow, they said. But white voters would never vote for a black president. Other angry voices were raised. Barack’s former pastor called the country a failure. God would damn the United States for mistreating its black citizens, he said.” ...

COMMON CORE TIMELINE

1983 A commission established by President Reagan publishes “A Nation at Risk.” The report calls for setting standards for what students should know and be able to do and marks the starting point of “standards-based” education reform. The movement calls for setting standards for what students should learn and monitoring whether they are learning through standardized tests. In the following years, states move to adopt standards, pushed along by federal legislation. Teachers groups also publish model standards of their own.

I am outraged,at the racist bigotry of those who would say that I didn't vote for Obama
Because he is black.
I would have voted for a black candidate, male or female,if they uphold the constitution, and our laws. This present admin.is corrupt and lawless. Obama is of the spirit of
antitrust,and is a false messiah.

Comment prematurely submitted.
Please look into it. I suggest you, YouTube- "know your enemy part 65" & also watch part 66 &67(truthfully it would be best if you started at part 1, but for the sake of the topic it's a quick rundown) it started with the UN assistant secretary general for 40years Robert Muller who said Alice a. Bailey was the influence for this curriculum. I sincerely hope that you look into these people and what they have tried to achieve.

The enemy has done some kind of job creating a "right wing, left wing" mentality amongst professing Christians in the western world. We are of another country, a heavenly Jerusalem.

Jim... You need to look into the Genesis of the world core curriculum(or common core as it's been re worded

Common Core while isn't the greatest invention since sliced bread as the ACA is, idea was around a lot longer than Obama has been President. I would also assume that teachers would point out what they consider errors in books which would not only be part of their job, but also a good learning experience for the children. While the Ill. Review is much more right-wing than I would like, it seem to have a little humor and rationality in it, unlike many right-wing sources that are complaining about this. (Yes, I have seen left-wing sources for articles, that were so bad, I refused to use them. I don't like either right or left wing extremists )

I wonder did these parents or whoever, flew off the handle, went off half-cocked, etc. before they talked to the teacher and school board or just seeing a political opportunity contacted some of the nutty radio commentators before anyone else? Also, non-whites may outnumber Whites even now, so the Chicken Littles who shout, "The Sky is falling!!!!!" may be looking for every opportunity to do just that. The book could be a good starting point to discuss the topic President Obama and the white vote? No problem.

Jim, you are missing the point. The book may indeed be an accurate biography of President Obama. Inserted in the book was the inaccurate blanket statement that whites didn't vote for BHO because he was black. (so we can assume the blacks that didn't vote for him was because he is white) There are people who fit that description (I know I live in the South) but the fact remains he would not president if whites hadn't voted him into to two terms. Common core is bad news, just like ACA. The more that comes out about it, the more we see that the leftist who wrote the curriculum have a political agenda they are trying to put forth and as bad as no child left behind was, this is much worse. It is dramatically alters education standards. It makes learning more subjective than objective, and lends itself to anything goes philosophy.

Well to be the first black president of the U.S., he sure hasn't helped the image of black people. We are all the same on the inside with the same God and King! Racism is just an excuse to cause more debates and more loopholes in elections! Open your eyes people! Call on Jesus! No matter whose president, Jesus Christ is and will always be the one true King!

UPS, what is hard to understand that a Christian parent should be monitoring what their children are being exposed to in the classroom be it Common Core or not? Then the parents or parents can somewhat calmly (at least at first ) tell the teacher and the higher ups they want substitute material for that book. Do this before acting like the feigning shills for the GOP or John Birch Society (Left & Right Voices in Talk Radio & TV) and being the dumb sheep for them.

Hmm, I wonder what Black parents think of this book? I'm not defending the book, well except if Glen Beck the Mormon doesn't like it, it may have some good in it, ,It may very well should be removed because of poor scholarship. If I remember the Common Core allows substitutions to be made in reading material. I assume if a book about Barack Obama was written by the John Birch society or KKK these parents wouldn't complain? Personally I hope they would, and demand a substitution for it.

How hard is that to understand? The book is PART of the program that is acceptable to use for Common Core.

Is this another it depends on what the definition of is, is.

If it is acceptable as part of the curriculum, and it USED to help meet the curriculum's stated goals then it is part of the curriculum. They are using it to teach the curriculum, it is not an island unto itself. I don't know how many ways I can say this. IT is part of the curriculum. It IS part of the curriculum. It is PART of the curriculum. It is part OF the curriculum. It is part of THE curriculum. It is part of the CURRICULUM. I hope I was clear on that, thanks.

Again reading in the Illinois Review it also said, 'This biography of America's 44th president, entitled "Barack Obama," is written by Jane Sutcliffe and published by Lerner. The book is part of Scholastic's "Reading Counts" program acceptable to the controversial Common Core curriculum standards.' excerpt from, St. Clair County 4th grade book says white voters rejected Obama because of race.

First of all why do any of you care since all of your children should be home schooled on in a religious school?

One of the things I have pointed out before is that if your child is going to public school, you should know about the curriculum and what they are reading! You should blow your top e.g., if they were forced to read the KJV So, as far as this book is concerned, if I were a parent of a child in this school, I may very well be gripping about the book (first I should read large chunks of it before I passed judgment on it), if it's bad as said have another book substituted for it. But don't pay attention the wingnuts who say what it isn't; part of Common Core

There are apparently other books out there that fits Common Core criteria. They can use those.
From the article,

"Fourth graders in Dupo Illinois ARE READING (not are given a choice of reading this book or another) a biography of Barack Obama by author Jane Sutcliffe. The book teaches children that white voters rejected Obama because of race."(there would be no president Barak Obama if it wasn't for white voters, blacks only make up only 12% of the electorate even if they ALL voted)

"This biography of America’s 44th president, entitled “Barack Obama,” is written by Jane Sutcliffe and published by Lerner. The book IS PART of Scholastic’s “Reading Counts” program acceptable to the controversial Common Core curriculum standards."

Apparently the children in this school aren't being told they can read a different book. The school obtained it because it was acceptable to be part of the Common Core curriculum. And where do find any reference to the Blaze? Jim, did you just read the headline or did you read the article?
