Rand Paul: 'We Want Our Freedoms Back'
On Wednesday, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) released a video to Breitbart News exclusively in which he argued that the surveillance state under President Obama had grown beyond any reasonable proportions. “We were once outraged and dismayed and spurred to resist when British soldiers came knocking at our door with illegitimate warrants seeking taxes on our papers. Today,” Paul continued, “your government responds that there is no expectation of privacy once you consign your records to a third party. Your government applies that the Fourth Amendment applies not at all to your bank records, your Visa bill, your internet searches or purchases or emails. If not resistance, shouldn’t there at least be outrage?”

Paul said, “Imagine for a moment what information could be gathered from your Visa bill,” mentioning health information, political information, and personal information. “Are we so afraid of ...

I am familiar with what he wrote and the times in which he wrote. I have seen it twisted to do contrary to the very purpose that The Divine Right of Presbytery was written to address; the divisions in the three nations, then being under one Monarch, according to the Word of God, in accordance with the National and Solemn League and Covenant. Covenants sworn by coronation oath to God by the Stewart Monarchs (i.e. Mary??? wife of William of Orange)as well all ranks in Magistracy, the Ministry together with the common folk that were under their authority in the three kingdoms. It was taken on behalf of themselves and their posterity-History. The throne of Britain is bound by oath, as are the Reformed Churches of her posterity that hold the WCF. Better not to vow then to vow and not to pay. Psalm 94:20-22 I am bound to testify against Popery their false system of worship.

The best explanation of Excommunication is Mr. Cargill's Sermon before the Excommunication at the Torwood.

I dont believe Rutherford(as the Scottish Commissioner to the Westminster Assembly & Pastor) intended that as a refutation for obligations of Christians to be members of a faithful Church. You are wanting to see something in there, that doesnt exist. Remember he wrote "Divine Right of Church Government and Excommunication"

Penny, I wonder why we misinterpret one another frequently, considering I can relate to some of the life experiences you've shared? I'm going to guess possibly age and knowledge base.
I have worshiped alone or in family since 2002.

From the Belgic Confession
"Article 28: The Obligations of Church Members

We believe that since this holy assembly and congregation is the gathering of those who are saved and there is no salvation apart from it, no one ought to withdraw from it, content to be by himself, regardless of his status or condition. "

btw: Have you used the ID 'fruit inspector' here?

I have worshiped alone or in family since 2002. I call Mr. Thomas Manton (1620-1677) my pastor because his ministry has been declarative in the written page and he has taught me much, for which I praise my Prophet and Chief Shepherd, who has greatly used his labors in his time. I have much of what he has written in books. I have difficulty reading off a computer and rare access to them to listen if read by someone. Unless God prevent my access is coming to an end.

If you go to speakers (Thomas Manton) on SA you will find a few have read his works here. The sermon I read this Lord's Day was LXI from his work on Hebrews 11 'By Faith' It's not here. William Guthrie's Sermon was published by Tent Maker's in 'Sermons in Times of Persecution' All of Guthrie's sermons there are worth reading as well the other Worthies. Manton's works are published by Banner of Truth . You'll know more about finding things on the computer.

mourner, here it is, thanks for the reference, do you have any links to their sermons in regards to this topic (I guess its perseverance of the saints, isn't it?)

"Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

"Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward."

I have never seen Jim admit he voted for the Impostor from Kenya, however I have never heard him critisize him either regardless of what outrageous lies he tells or things he does. No, all Jim does is pull up his cardboard cutout of W to throw darts at. Don't hold your breath waiting for him to catch up with the rest of us and deal with the current Occupier of the White House. Hey, maybe Jim has been "encapsulated in an enclosed device" for the last five years and doesn't know that W is no longer president. Let us pray that Jim escapes the "enclosed device" of Satanic socialism that the devil and his son of perdition in the White House has used to beguile so many in this country and around the world.

What does that mean?

My son said Social Security. If you believed what I believe that wouldn't apply to you. You'd be off the grid and now you would need to read Mr. Manton's Sermon on Hebrews 11:26 to keep from fainting. To understand that Moses was not only offered the treasures of Egypt (honour, pleasures and riches in abundance), but the terror of the kings wrath. These are severe trials of faith for poor weak ones. Moses wasn't weak Mr. Manton tells why. But not all of God's people move easily from the speculative to the practical. Mr. William Guthrie helped me to understand what happened next and what to do about it.

It seems a better perspective of history here would be helpful and since we were once a British plantation one must start there. I don't understand the significance of the link. It is not surprising, However what makes it a gift?

The Inadequacy of Moralism

Yes, take a look at Baby-Face Bush on Jay Leno, 'I Relied Upon My Faith,' George W. Bush Tells Jay Leno.... What faith was that in Cheney and the Oil Industry? Bush is a blasphemer, or just as bad, he didn't protect nominal Christians and others in Iraq! Even William McKinley who said God instructed him to go into the Spanish-American War (It wasn't God, by the way,) accomplished more good than Bush.

Yes, let's hope the sensible Republicans beat back the Ideologues (that's pronounced Idiot-logs) Sam’s Club Republicans Vs. the Tea Party in the upcoming elections.

Civil war is not necessary, though an unrecognized war has already been declared on the Americans by their government. An informed electorate is necessary to win this unrecognized war. The Marxists no longer have control of the media. For a Letterman there will be a Leno. For a CNN there will be a Fox. Though there are the military who obey the president there are those who defend the Constitution according to their oath. Eventually, even the low information types are awakened to the loss of their freedoms, and turn against their puppeteers. We may yet see the results in the next two elections.
