Costco Labels Bible as Fiction

What do the Bible, "The Hunger Games" and "Fifty Shades of Grey" have in common? All three are works of fiction, according to the booksellers at Costco.

Pastor Caleb Kaltenbach made that shocking discovery last Friday as he was shopping for a present for his wife at a Costco in Simi Valley, Calif.

“All the Bibles were labeled as fiction,” the pastor told me. “It seemed bizarre to me.”

Kaltenbach is the lead pastor at Discovery Church, a non-denominational Christian congregation in southern California. ...

US, no offense taken. I know that not every church is full of compromise, and there are plenty of Biblical churches, I just haven't found one in my little area of east Texas. Im confident the good Lord will lead me to one. So I haven't forsaken the assembly of ourselves as Hebrews talks about, I just don't want to go to a dead church, which has been my experience thus far. Sometimes it really bothers me that I'm not a part of a local church, but I don't want go against my convictions, so its kind of hard. My comment earlier wasn't intended to smear all churches, but was aimed at the startling trend of Christians who don't believe the Bible is the infallible word of God, especially in my age group (I'm 24).

I would suggest Grace Family Baptist Church in Houston. Don't live nearby? It will be worth the drive.

Costco admitted the mistake , said they were sorry and stated they would make sure the same mistake isn't repeated . Still I hear Christians stating don't shop at Costco. Really?

they apologized for the mistake, just saying, not making for or against statement about Costco

Gs from Texas, not trying to be judgmental here but it seems you really don't do a lot of church going. I have been to several churches (special events) in my area here in Georgia where the Word of God is preached and practiced. So, although I could be wrong, don't live in Texas, I would find it hard to believe that there aren't any churches where the Word of God is practiced and preached there.

Ah, Bursim, you're implying Costco is Catholic? Agreed their Bibles have fictional portions in them, when Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses push their man-made versions of Scripture, then it is fiction.

I would suggest that Costco is a good store not to go to.

Because if you don't have the Holy Spirit to guide you then the Bible is simply a work of fiction done by men who believe in a supreme creator. Which as most people on earth know is fiction.

The Liberal churches the Roman Catholics and JW's are just as bad with their interpretations changing the bits which don't suit their philosophies. They consider mortals wrote the Bible - which means other mortals can later change the verses.

If you cannot believe the Bible then it becomes myth and this is where the reprobate finds themselves - unless the Holy Spirit steps in to change them.

God said homosexuality is an abomination. How do you get round that? Simple remove God. Thus do Liberals join with reprobates and atheists to exclude God from life on earth.

What's even worse, is that most professing Christians these days don't even believe the Bible is infallible word of God. So as a result we have thousands of preachers preaching out of a book they don't even really believe in. Most of the churches I've been to, the people there don't seem to know much more than what the preacher tells them. If the church is down grading the word of God, why should we be surprised when the lost world does the same?

2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

When you buy a book from Barnes and Noble, they list the author as GOD! I just think that's awesome!

They just dispense with the unbiblical parts to the Bible.

Once Christian scholars identified seven AV books as fiction, secularists would eventually relabel the rest as such. The Koran will never suffer a similar offense.
