State insurance commissioner rejects Obama’s proposal to extend canceled policies
State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler has rejected President Obama’s proposal to allow insurance companies to extend health insurance policies for people who have received notices that their policies will be cancelled at the end of the year.

Within two hours of President Obama’s news conference announcing the proposed administrative fix for Americans upset by their policy cancellations, Kreidler issued a statement rejecting the proposal.

“I understand that many people are upset by the notices they have recently received from their health plans and they may not need the new benefits [in the Affordable Care Act] today,” he said. “But I have serious concerns about how President Obama’s proposal would be implemented and more significantly, its potential impact on the overall stability of our health insurance market.” ...

The Heritage Foundation is far-right? But if you're standing on the left wing tip of a C-5A, and like a good "progressive" are looking forward, it will look like the fuselage is way off to the right.

UPS, except for your last URL, which is an obviously far-right site, but no I didn't dismiss it out of hand for that, I still don't see any Republican Universal Healthcare Plan? I did find these two commentaries (All by normal people (at least I think they are), Mike of N.Y.) Republicans had a plan to replace Obamacare. It looked a lot like Obamacare. and "Republican President Theodore Roosevelt and Republican Presidents and Republican politicians for over 100 years have supported universal health care." intro to Paul Rawlings: Universal Health Care.

While rates may actually be higher for those on the ACA in Nebraska, they may be lower where you live, so check them out at, Find Your Health Plan Now or Viewing ObamaCare-Compliant Health Plans in One Step -- (Calculations based on Actual Ages). I was told that results were exactly the same for both sites.

Thanks AZ

Tell me Jim, if you are the independent you claim to be why could we click on your magnifying glass and find pages of comments of praise for the democrats and disdain for the republicans. A pattern for years. Why don't you just admit you're proud to be a liberal democrat. You don't have to be a closet liberal. (even this quote about the so called Republican plan is from a liberal democrat)We all love and appreciate you already, and the honesty about this issue would be a breath of fresh air.

I offer the following information as proof that your 2 point description is what happens under Obamacare

I will wait for your proof that the Republicans have ANY plan that matches those words.

http://www.pop.org/content/infants-and-elderly-need-not-apply-1954

http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/seniors-hurt-obamacare-article-1.1504414

http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2013/08/obamacares-impact-on-seniors-an-update

Your turn, show us the Republican plan that fits the description.

You see your problem is there are no horror stories of people by the thousands out there dying unnecessarily due being turned away because they have no healthcare coverage, which is your contention. Just the opposite happens, thousands with no health coverage get care.

By the way go to the "20's something..." thread and you should easily see what type of health insurance you can get.

A fine dancer you are Jim. What has it to do with you repeatedly posting a lesbian's article supporting obamacare? Friends in low places?

Question: Why should a 60 yr old with an individual policy be required to pay for a policy with pediatric dental and vision care?

If the GOP has it's way, UPS this would be health insurance:

1. Don't get sick
2. If you do get sick die quickly!

which many plans amounted to, anyway.

ACA - looks like you can't keep your doctor you like as promised by the president

http://tinyurl.com/kvmuj46

Here is a video of students at historically black college who's $50 a semester plan got cancelled by ACA and now they are facing $3,000 a year policies, one student's answer to what will they do now was, "I guess don't get sick."

http://campusreform.org/?ID=5239

HHS sent out memo to insurance commissioners that ACA plans, even with subsidies, in many cases would be more expensive than people's current coverage

http://tinyurl.com/kwb4ars

ACA website tries to hide the cost of the plan for which you have to sign up.

http://tinyurl.com/mbrulyk

Leading accounting and actuarial firms – Oliver Wyman, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Hay Group, and Milliman – issued reports estimating the President’s health care plan would increase premiums up to 60 percent.

CBO estimated families buying coverage on their own (in the individual market) would see premium costs increase 10 to 13 percent – a $2,100 annual increase due to the health care law. The same CBO analysis also predicted premiums would rise by 27 to 30 percent because the health care law requires Americans to buy more expensive benefit packages.

ACA = higher cost

Also more than just one state regulator has decided insurance companies have to meet the higher standards of the ACA, as mentioned in,

No Jim, the folks who don't want maternity, drug, or mental health coverage because they don't need it are being told their plans are insufficient and illegal under Ocare. That's why they are losing the plans. Deal with it.

Since you claim to be opposed to homosexuality, why do you keep posting the 5 reasons link, which was written by a lesbian? Nothing left to scrape up in the bottom of the barrel to support your position on ocare?

Jim, if a people are always eating each other up, they will devour themselves.... keep it up and that's exactly what those who would want us weak would want us to do... basically, you're falling for the bait. sorry, if you can't see the harm being done, I'm meeting with families that can barely feed their kids, facing fines because this supposed "health" insurance is unaffordable.... and I might add.. if the kids were fed well, they wouldn't be living at the docs office.

yep corp's are huge, gov is huge and the indl has no representation. that's where we are at, why devour our own?

Hey Jim,
you have no idea what you are talking about! Please don't talk about the GOP while ignoring all of the wickedness perpetrated on this nation by THE OPPOSITION PARTY. I live in NYC and am an eye witness to the moral destruction they have inflicted!

It should be up to the insured to decide what kind of plans are best for them. How do you miss the obvious? Too American for you, Jim?
