The phenomenon of fusion centers sharing intelligence and skills with each other — not just with the federal government — is a new and underappreciated aspect of the centers, panelists at a Homeland Security Policy Institute event said.

Fusion centers mainly apply national intelligence to local contexts and gather information locally that they can share with federal agencies. But in recent years, a great deal of "horizontal sharing" has occurred, where fusion centers work closely with each other, said Ross Ashley, the executive ...

The police are servants of the state to carry out the will of the state in the lives of the citizens, they are advocates for the state, defenders of the state. The state says thou shall have no other gods before me and my servants will see that the required devotion and servitude is present in the lives of my subjects.

Get reals post reminds me of an article I read about how some women repeatedly told the police someone was stalking her, and threatening her life. The police kept refusing to do anything about it, and sure enough, she was assaulted( I can't remember exactly what happened to her). Well she tried to Sue the citiy police department for not doing anything, and you know what the court decided? They ruled that the police department has no obligation to defend, or protect the citizens! I've read many similar stories. Artocles like these show that this country is getting more and more Orwellian every year.
Yet if you defend yourself, odds are you will be told that's what the police are for.

Get real,
The big indicator of a militarized, national police force came with the Boston marathon fiasco. Tanks, automatic machine guns, city lock down, and helicopters...all for a wounded teenager.

have you ever ran in to a police station and asked for help in an emergency lately?
you will die in their lobby, as they stand behind bullet proof glass and watch you get assaulted ...
it seems that there are no "duty officers" in there anymore (this is what they claim) and its all clerical and they have to call 911 for you from behind the bullet proof glass ...
they want everyones guns and if you are being chased by a road rage person and drive to and run into a police station you have no protection ...
You have got to be kidding? What kind of nonsense is this that one can't be protected by the police in a police station?
