Atheist ‘Mega-Churches’ Launch in U.S.

It looked like a typical Sunday morning at any mega-church. Hundreds packed in for more than an hour of rousing music, an inspirational sermon, a reading and some quiet reflection. The only thing missing was God.

The inaugural Sunday Assembly in Los Angeles attracted more than 400 attendees, all bound by their belief in non-belief.

That's it, Dolores. and the thicker your skin, the easier it gets.

Shortly after becoming a Christian, someone told me it was necessary to develop a crocodile skin. I replied that the Lord had made me soft, and I didn't want a crocodile skin.

But then, young Christians often disregard the advice of older ones. That's just the way it is.

AZ, you are so right because in the times we are now living weso need the prayers and support of true believers. God go with you and you, too, John UK . I don't know how how many on here served in the military or have loved ones serving now but forgot to give my thanks to them for my freedom and prayers for those serving now. Veterans' Day brings memories of them including those in my family.

Again, I feel a little misunderstood. I hope I did not give the idea that I believe all religions are right those that do not believe that Jesus is the only way is headed in the wrong direction for destruction. I was talking about altar calls to be saved. I went forward to be saved and was. My son went forward at age 10 because his friends went down and he wasn't saved but later on at age 18 he had an experience with God at home by himself and was saved and you could see the difference, he was rebaptized and still very much a christian. So I know altar calls don't always mean salvation. AZ you keep praying for your family and He will bring them out just as He did you.

Dolores...we are all a work in progress.
Let's all pray one for another and be the best Christian witnesses and point others to the Lord and Saviour.
God bless.

John UK and AZ, you both are right and it's called evangelism, and missionaries and just being a witness. My problem is with my in-laws judgement of me for not being the right wife for their son. I just never could be the Penecostal they believed was so the only way. Like I said I am working on this and feel so horrible when I lash out in a defensive mode.

Thanks for clearing up some things about Catholics. I could never be in their church because the beliefs are so different than mine. I can only imagine how terrible it must be to see the wrong but have family members still there. I will pray for them also.

Dolores...
To respect people of another faith is commendable ,but to respect religions or ways of salvation that blind people from the truth of Gods Word is deplorable. The wide road that leads to destruction is full of people who respect more than one way of salvation.
A loving Christian will correct those who are in opposition to the truth in hopes God will grant them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth. 2 Timothy 2:25,26.

Dolores, if the Governor of Texas ordered all born again Christians to be executed, would that give you some idea as to whose side he was on?

Yes! The devil's side!

I advise against loving the devil.

Cont. Another thought, I got was that the born again Christian is suppose to be known by their love for each other, supportive etc. but instead they sometimes are known to devour one another, to bbring confusion to those that begin to question their beliefs because they got saved different than some one else did so their salvation is true and yours false. God help us to not add more persecutions than the World already does .My sincere apology to anyone I've been unloving toward. In the long run of thingsit does not matter what you think of Billy Graham or CS Lewis or Catholics. It boils down to what God knows. It's not worth fighting about and I feel condemned that I took part in it. I've repented and ask forgiveness even for my last post here,so uncalled for.

Dolores..Thank-you for your response.
I was saved out of romananism by Gods grace and mercy.
In my zeal as a young believer I pounded the gospel of grace and what was wrong in roman catholic doctrine to my family continually, since the official dogmas and teaching of the RC religion conceal and distort the only means by which sinful man can be reconciled to our Holy God.It is of utmost importance that we evangelicals point them to the narrow gate that leads to life.(Matthew 7:14)
But with that said I have found that after they have all been told and pointed to the way, the truth and the life. The best way is to be on your knees lifting them up to the throne of grace day and night and living it out before them.
If they are the Lords not one of them will be lost!
Salvation is of the Lord.
May God richly bless you and yours!

The thought being that most churches today are lively with songs that are just phrases over and over, really no meaning much just loud noise, which my pastor thinks is great and the song leader thinks we should just get with the program and stop just sitting there with arms folded. Since the Catholic Church has a quieter service she could have added that to the list of quieter services. Never been in one but have seen some on TV. I have been so hurt by some on this forum because I don't join in on their bashing of those who are Catholics. Like I said before, we are not called to be lawyers or judges, just witnesses. Just wanted to warn her that's all. How refreshing, you asked nicely and do pray I answered as nice as you asked.AZ.

Tara Gill, you just described the Church I go to, amazing! Maybe this is satan's plan since it's apparently world wide. He wants to get our attention off true worship of God. Good post and I'm so glad you didn't add the Catholic Church to that list. That's a no,no and you would have been blasted out of the water. Anyway, good comment, Tara, I agree.

Yeah, doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense, does it, Mr B? I tend to wonder if we were not in this current age of technology; the age of mass media, where if a pin drops, it can be heard and seen around the world in real time, would this church and others like it even exist. You see, I believe they do it for the sole reason of getting attention...they want their proud defiance to be seen and read throughout the world. I just don't think they would even bother if they couldn't be seen doing it on a mass scale.

If they don't believe , why then are they having church? What's the point. " hi my name is so and so and I go to the church of nothing" . Wow! The headlines , the stories, the people get more bizarre by the day.
