Student Body President at Northwest Christian University Denounces Christian Faith, Declares Himself Atheist

The president of the student body at Northwest Christian University publicly announced that he has been a longtime atheist despite his enrollment at the Oregon-based college and is now urging Christians to practice what they preach by becoming accepting of those who do not fit their same "pattern."

Eric Fromm, 21, published an article last week in his school's news website as his way of denouncing his former Christian beliefs. He says he was an atheist before enrolling as a student but decided to attend the 600-student university because of his interest in its communication program.

"I was baptized Lutheran, and raised Methodist, but as time went on I slowly came to the conclusion that God wasn't real," Fromm wrote in his article. "I knew that the school catered to Christian thinking, so before I enrolled, I visited the campus to make sure that the chapel services were comfortable enough that I ...

"Fromm also continues to hold his position and according to Michael Fuller, the university's vice president for enrollment and student development, the university continues to embrace him as part of their community regardless of his disbelief in God."

Big mistake. What do these self righteous hypocrites hope to gain by embracing this reprobate. It precisely because of this lack of judgment that the Church in America is a mockery.

I have very little know how and no money, It is not my property in one sense and in another it is. The water is so hard it corroded the faucet and I don't have the money or ability to replace it. Neither do I drive.

There is a time for every purpose under heaven.
I will say this though, that my hope in that which has been revealed in the prophetic Scripture in particular (which is the place suffering saints look for hope and and a future, if not for themselves, for their seed)these higher things lead me to believe their are higher things at stake here then education or plumbing.
If I have the wrong idea, my apologies, but why would anyone leave a faucet unrepaired for 6 months? It takes little know-how, and little money. Are you really convinced this lack of doing something is patience granted you via God's providence? Clarify?

John U.K., if you were John Y., or any of the other Catholics here on this forum, I would say one thing you would have to do is Come Out Of The Catholic Church. --but John U.K., I know you don't have that problem.

John U.K., there is a good answer to your question at 2 Thessalonians 2:8-15.

If this atheist was required to state that he was a Christian to attend this school and lied on his application, I would think that would be grounds for expulsion?

Steve, I am getting the highest education available on this planet, so don't worry yourself about me. My tutor is omniscient.

However, seeing as you regard me as unsaved, and seeing as I am willing to hear the word of God and respond to it, and seeing as I believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God.......maybe you would like to put up your flag and tell me the answer to the following question:

What must I do to be saved?

It would be refreshing to actually see answers from you both about direct questions.
You have such a nice caring spirit and it is clear that it is a natural thing for you. Most of the questions presented to SteveR or John Y either remain unanswered or they go into the attack mode very quickly; not using scriptures in context or using isolated scriptures that do not consider all the texts that touch on a subject.

But, your concern for them is refreshing to me. We are to love our enemies and in that respect, I do love them both. But, as you know, there is a special love that the brethren have for each other and it is different.

SteveR, you shouldn't have. I didn't feel left out, but really thanks for thinking of me. But honestly, given the contempt you feel for the people who post here, is there a reason you feel a need to stick around? Not asking that you leave just wondering why if we are wicked workers of iniquity why would you want to be drawn away with us contemptible ones? I join my good brother Frank and others, in heartfelt prayer for your conversion.
I John 4:20 (NKJV) "If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?"
Good comment brother. I just pray that he will ponder what you and I have said; who knows?

But, I do have a problem with you posting using the NKJV. I use the NASB for study, but then go to the trouble to look everything up in the KJV and post using that. I do that so my weaker brothers and sisters won't be offended.

Got to go take a walk with my wife. I got a hip replacement 6 weeks ago this coming Tuesday and I need to walk as much as possible, at least for a while. I now have a bionic hip.
Old age can be a real trip.

BUT with the same old dung

'Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung' Job 20: 7

What's dung IS DUNG.
Philippians 3:8,9 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And being found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith'

It is the dung of Romanism and lost for ever OR it is Sovereign Grace lifting us up from the dunghill counting all else but Christ as dung!

The truth of justification by faith alone or the dung of Romanism, John Y? You won't have a new life and home in heaven unless you come to see what Luther saw, by grace alone, John Yurich.

SteveR.

Yesterday I prayed at least twice that the Lord would deliver you from your blindness and the Holy Spirit would draw you to the Lord and Savior and that you would repent of your sins and believe and trust solely in His finished work on the cross.

I prayed that prayer because I honestly and truly desire that you come to the Lord.

Now as an aside and please don't take this as a question, but as something that I am absolutely sure of. I would say that you "have never prayed" that the Lord would save either John UK, U.S. or myself whom you refer to as the unholy trinity. Now, I simply want you to ponder why you have never done that. That fact should reveal to you more than I or anyone else could ever say.

Now remember, this message does not require an answer from you.
