House Republicans set to kill ENDA?

This morning, after Senator Dean Heller announced he’d be the 60th vote for the Employment Non Discrimination Act, enabling it to break a GOP filibuster, House Speaker John Boehner promptly declared he opposes the legislation, putting its passage in doubt. Senior House GOP aides say the bill is unlikely to get a House vote.

However, on this topic, there are a handful of House Republicans who happen to agree with the RNC autopsy into what went wrong in 2012, which prescribed that the GOP should project a more tolerant aura on gay rights. One such House Republican is Rep. Charlie Dent, who comes from a moderate Pennsylvania district — and is one of around five House Republicans to come out for ENDA so far.

“I believe the Speaker should allow a vote on this bill,” Dent told me in an interview today. “I believe that the American public wants to make sure people are not discriminated against, based ...

Frank, perhaps you didn't have a chance to see a short comment about Gil Rugh on The Purpose of the Local Church and Community Issues for a sermon you can listen to, The Church and Social Responsibility which is longer of course.

A government on earth will not reflect what is Christian until Christ's return in the millennium and establishes it, as in seen in God's Plan For Man from part of summary we have,

Gil Rugh said or, wrote:
....
Things as they are on our earth are out of order due to sin. The fallen angels still have the power and authority they were delegated by God to have at the time of their creation but in our present world they are in rebellion against God, following the leadership of Satan. These spirit beings along with the rest of creation will be brought into subjection to Christ and the right order of things in the coming kingdom under Christ's rule and authority.

Well Jim, you are either over my head or I was over your head. You can choose.

All politics yield to one of the following. This is no exception. Scripture should guide our culture, but in America and elsewhere, culture defines scripture.

The below was taken from something I read on the internet.

Relativism is the perspective that truth and morals are relative to societies and individuals; there are no absolute truths and morals that are true for all people of all times. Relativism is the opposite of absolutism which asserts that there are universal truths and morals that are true for all people at all times.

Pragmatism is a philosophical approach that interprets truth based upon practical effects. According to pragmatism, truth is what is practical and useful. Thus, something is deemed “true” if it is practical and it works and “untrue” if it does not work. Pragmatists often view metaphysical speculations as irrelevant since they bring no practical benefits.
